Discussion I am desperately searching for something fun... help

Noone started out good at wood carving, skills take time to master, as does everything else. Even if you start out bad, and believe me you won't be satisfied with your first creation, but slowly you'll improve and maybe one day you're producing wooden tools which are of great import to you, family or friends etc.

 

Do you do it? if you do, how did you start and what did you do when you first started?

You could electrically stimulate the pleasure center of your brain... When rats had the opportunity, they kept the button pressed until they starved to death IIRC, so it is probably super fun.

 

No I personally don't do wood carving, but I have done things which I thought was impossible for me to do in the past, and if you ask anyone who's into some craft out there, you pretty much always get the same story, that you're not amazing at first, but yes I have carved some wooden things, a few of which I'm rather proud of, most I'd be prone to throw into a fireplace. But it's a valuable craft because it allows you to calm down and focus on something simple, a thing which is very good for the human mind.

Try making your own game, takes a lot of time if its not sokething really really simple (follow youtube tutorials but dont copy the code from the description)

yeah I did, and I am seriously amazed. I thought I was free, but damn someone actually has the time to create such a site. I am not sure whether I should be thankful to you or not though...

 

Man I played an instrument for 4 years and another one for a few months and understood that it's just not for me.

I recommend comic books, cooking, and exercise. When I'm bored I just go on a run. See how long you can last until you get tired and keep going until you feel it's time to go home. Any exercise is better than no exercise

 

Then try out writing stories and poems. I do that from time to time.

Go outside.
Meet people.
Learn something new. <- really one of the best things you can do.
Become a street fighter.
Watch Vlogs on YouTube, I personally enjoy Logan Paul's and George Janko's.
Make a YouTube channel and do whatever you want.
Get a job. Try creating a business.
Get a Pinterest/Imgur/Instagram, some sort of forum, whatever, and become active on it. Join some discord servers, NUF has a fairly active one.
Learn to twirl a pencil so you can show off.
Learn to draw. Meditate. Discover new music. Create music. Dance, even if you're not good at it.
Watch movies of all sorts of genres.
Try teaching yourself echolocation.
Look for new things you've never noticed before throughout your day.

 

You said that you already read most of what might interest you. But we all know thats a lie. So here are a few crazy people surviving in a post-apocalyptic world where ANYTHING can happen. And here is one where earths OS is currently reverting back to Torah/Bible.
Now to actually answer your question: Get into a fandom. Not necessarily as a creative party. Just consuming the art people make can take a long time. You just have to find something that isn't too weird overall.

 

Find something you're interested in and get into that. Maybe building models, crafting projects, learning music...or even look into an interesting historical fact or something that captures your interest.

Worse comes to worst, go to TVTropes and click around the links until you learn something you never knew before. I've always found that fun (and it uses a looooot of time, if you need that).
