Hello, hello! Chamber here, translator for Coder Lee Yongho (shameless advertising)

Well... whether it's JP or CN, I can't seem to read more than 20 chapters when I look for new stuff... Is anyone else like that too? or is it just me. KR? Even worse; two lines is my limit.

the stories are pretty much the same after all...
    JP - reincarnate/summoned & OP skill & harem/loli harem (<-well, not all)
CN(mostly xuanhuan) - reincarnate(not all) & acquire peerless treasure & offend many people (beat them up, father's here) & skipping level fights & acquire insights & cultivation is bae & peerless beauty everywhere
KR - OP past (fantasy) or bottom of society (non-fantasy) -> (die) -> go back in time -> become even more OP (fantasy) or acquire skill to become rich(non-fantasy)

At first, yeah they're fun but I seem to get bored of it as time goes... I can't seem to be able to pick up new novels anymore... Help... Recommend me some new kind of novels? or even old ones?

As for genres.... I don't really mind but I prefer non-history, non-mystery and non-horror. Oh sports is not my thing either

TL;DR: recommend me non-generic novels (ofc they have to be fun)

Edit: no history, mystery, horror, sports or 'think with D' harem

Well it really depends, but when your running low on novels and scrapping the bottom of the barrel its understandable. After all you put these novels off for a reason in the first place. There are some novels I cant read just because the way their written bugs the crap out of me, makes it nigh impossible to get into the story. Others ill start and wont even notice the time until its been like 50 chapters of reading and realize I have to stop due to the time.
Each novel is unique to itself even if they are similar in tropes, cliche and ect. Be it how they are written or translated can easily mess with ones ability to immerse themselves in reading. Some I cant even get a chapter in, others less then 20, and others I just run into the brick wall of current chapters.

Just read the weird stuffs for a while. After that, you'll go back into craving the mainstreams.
    Try this :
Find any staff member (because their reading lists are usually open)
Try anything they rate 5 that seem non-mainstream (shio & holyshin has lots of those).

My own recommendation : Semi Datte Tensei Sureba Ryuu Ni Naru & The Bathroom Goddess.

Depends on what you read. I'd you don't like looking at the generic trash, don't expect to enjoy and get far into the series.

I look for series based on author, or if it is something I haven't seen before. Even amongst generic looking series, there are those that take different approaches and actually understand what the heck character progression is. Take ISSTH, it takes every part of what constitutes xianxia, but it is so competent that it makes most others look like trash.

Sometimes digging is the only viable way to find the gems in the rough. Whenever you need a break, change up the genre. There are decent western novels for fiction, fantasy, sci-fi. There are great Russian authors, there are interesting Malaysian and Taiwanese series (Yu Wo for instance [edit: forgot Yu Wo was from Taiwan, not Malay; thanks to Haikai for reminding me]). You could also try out older mangas that have been forgotten in time (before they became cliche and overly perverted), or look at webtoon series by English and Korean authors.

Limiting yourself only limits your enjoyment.

Nope.. I need to see things through the end. That is why i avoid novels dropped by the author or translator.

It's a good story with good characters and also a good flow. The beginning might seem like a typical JP Harem story although it is CN but it get's better and it get's daily updated.

I have the same problem most novels just lack flavor they are like popcorn yeah little hints of differences but at the end of the day its still popcorn. here is a list of the ones i read regular.
    God and Devil World
    Warlock of the Magus World
    Jiu Shen
    Hail the King
Long Live Summons - it kinda follows the tropes but with an ultra shameless MC who is not afraid to whoop weaklings and purposely hides his high level just to do so.
    Death March
Dragon's Soul - English original posted on novels nao
Martial Hero Rebirth - can be found on Wuxiaworld Forums
    Hachinan
    Desolate Era
    Swallowed Star
    Galaxy Shattering Blade
    Awakening
    Instant Kill
    Tales of Demons and Gods
    Galactic Dark Net
The Mage Will Master Magic Efficiently In His Second Life
Expecting to Fall into Ruin, I Aim to Become a Blacksmith

    hello---!
what is this! those stereotyped novels, hey! it's time to broaden your horizons and go for things different from your usual! now then with the novels i'm recommending, remember to keep an open mind and enjoy things as they go, and hopefully, you can get through 20 chapters! but, before i recommend anything, how do you feel about romance? majority of things i recommend have romance in them, so i'm witholding the romance until i get your reply!

ahem, so i'll begin with one that is xuanhuan, but with one of the best male leads i've seen so far, whether in xuanhuan/xianxia,
    -History’s Number 1 Founder

    modern:
Kenkyo, Kenjitsu o Motto ni Ikite Orimasu
Bathroom Goddess(+historical, you'll understand when you read it)
No Hero(has other creatures. and anything else by yu wo, the author)
Dominion’s End(same author as No Hero)
    Evil God Average

    western historical setting:
Tensei Oujo wa Kyou mo Hata o Tatakioru
Common Sense of a Duke’s Daughter
    Tensei Shoujo no Rirekisho
    Cook of the Mercenary Corp
    I'll Live My Second Life!
    The Legend of Sun Knight

    chinese historical:
A Mistaken Marriage Match: A Generation of Military Counselor(awesome female lead. as of recent chapter, not really any romance)

You hit by the boredom disease my friend where you easily get bored or you feel that what you read is the 'usual thing again' which is common in novels.

..i have this too few months ago. In order to relieve this you need to:
    1. Stop reading for a day or for a week or maybe for whole month if you can
    2. Do other things like playing games
    3. Sleep..sleep and sleep
    4. Go out and stare or watch the outside world

Do these things so that your brain will forget and eventually crave to read more...Good luck
