Images not showing up?

I was scrolling through a daily laughs thread made by a "flowersinger69" (if that's not their name then I'm sorry I forgot it...) and the more I read the the more I got pissed off... at least a quarter of the pics only showed [Image] and not the actual image itself... and when it comes down to the images from "flowersinger69" I don't remember seeing a single proper image, all I would see is [image]... I know that other people can see them cause they talk about how the images are funny or cute and I'm sitting here looking at [image].... I have tried anything I could think of and it stays the same... anyone else have this problem?

You really only see [image] or is that just an example?
Unless the website that they took the images from blocked that image, or their image files are broken, then I can still see the image normally.

 

Maybe they use imgur and ur country blocked that

Depends, maybe sometimes the uploaded picture was removed. I removed pictures I uploaded on a site and it no longer showed up in my post in NUF

Yeah, I agree that it can be a little irritating. Happens to me too sometimes.
I'm not on mobile.
It happens with images that have just been posted and are still being discussed, so I'm pretty sure broken or removed links does not explain all of them.
(@Bob16 The older the post, the higher the possibility the link is just bad/broken/removed.)
Sometimes you can right click the word [image] and it gives you the option to open it in a new tab and it will show the picture.
Other times right clicking only gives you the option to download the image to view it.
Some of the images show up if you load the same page on the Chrome web browser.
And sometimes it doesn't work despite trying all of that.

The ones I've seen really just say "[image]"

it might have been that the image links are already broken but when we posted them they still loaded properly.
