The plot is tragic and serious but the way it's written makes it almost read like a comedy. The way the MC is constantly talking and pleading for his life whilst inwardly plotting, is almost like a slapstick comedy. Anyone else reading this?
waiting for atleast 20 chapters to be out before getting into it, ALOT of series are dropped at around 5 chapters or so in to the story, guess thats when the translator realises it actually takes some effort.
Looking at the description, the translation quality is horrendous? Or at least the translator's grammar is horrendous. It's a random mix of tenses. Is this actually the case?
Not at all. The translator's English is pretty decent and is quite knowledgeable about Chinese idioms, e.g observing a leopard through a bamboo tube管中窥豹，可见一斑: A Chinese idiom, which means “to have a limited view of sth.”. The grammar was fine as far as I could tell, reads almost like a native English writer would have written it. A few typos here and there (e.g "apart form this, he tasted something else in the crispy pancake – the taste of blood.") that's pretty much it. I do agree that the synopsis needs to be fixed though. It's pretty awful.
This !! those series gets dropped, because TLs gets degraded from the transcendence realm of the TLs to a mortal, and so when that happens they loses few screws in their heads..... well, wonder how many chapters will this get until it gets dropped and picked (or perm. dropped) by the TLs, hope the story is good enough, else TL will start crying (and drop it).
It has good ratings on the Chinese review sites and the MC is an interesting character, so I don't think the story will be a factor in dropping the series.
well if not story, then that'd be degraded TL. the one that picked it up, seems like got a new site, i hope they will hold tightly on that...
