Jpn/cn/korean fans of western novels?

We're fans of aisan translated novels, some of us like anime, manga/manhua/manhwa. So are there aisan fans, who live in there native countries, liking western comics, novels and moives.

I know in japan, people like Disney movies and what not. Some of them like comics and moives.
But are any of them fans of western novels?

yes, some Japanese people read western novels, some of the classic western novels are translated into Japanese too. idk about japs reading royalroadl stuff though....probably not too many of those

 

They definitely do consume western novels and movies, though mostly the popular ones. My Chinese cousin is a massive fan of Transformers and the Marvel franchise, and my mom grew up in China reading translated versions of western classics like Jane Eyre.

 

I like western movies more than asian ones transformers and stuffes

Also, there is disney in japan my half-jap friend told me. So maybe, some japs like disney who knows

 

Harry Potter is international, there should be a good amount of fans for that in the asian countries.

 

Some of the japanese novel does have a western reference right ?

 

I know Lord of the rings made a shitload of money and generally earned great reviews. Do anybody know the reception of it in CH/JP/KR? Was Tolkien to western?

Theres bound to be western novel lover in such a large amount of people.
I dont know about others tho, but I dont like western novel much. Or maybe I just dont want to buy the books.. I didnt like the few ones I tried either, so Im staying away from them.

 

Lol. Not all of us are westerners, I'm aisan. Only partly. I don't know that may aisan forums. I don't know hardly any Japanese or Chinese.
I'm part Chinese, so I tried asking Chinese people I know, but there Chinese-Australians. So, I don't think it'd really count.

Since I live in area with lot's of aisans, I asked a jap friend of mine, anime and light novels etc aren't even mainstream compared to fucking Disney.

Indeed, These Aisans really started popping up everywhere, I wonder if they are related to Asians?

Indeed, much western popular literature has been translated and enjoyed by fans in Asian countries, just search the jp amazon website for western books. Or ask it on one of the forums (Not that I know any).
