MC has amazing detection and hiding ability and mobility. him getting interrupted in his path makes no sense. but a lot of things in xianxia make no sense. so i was pleasantly surprised that he just made the trip successfully.

 

but there was no plotting, no selling him out, no getting caught up in local battles. it feels... wrong.

 

I just simply felt that it skipped the boring "filler" part for us and dived right into the main story.

 

I agree, I was also shocked when the author skipped the whole illusion village ordeal when MC was doing that trial, didn't even take 2 paragraphs iirc.

 

Before MC was a big fish in a small pond, I wonder if now he will become a leviathan in an ocean?

I'm a bit confused. Why is he antagonizing the Liu family....The same family that he is looking for help with? He even thought about them having the same connections. If anything I'd joke about it with the young miss, be like sure I'll him to you if you can manage to keep him. If he comes back to me then you'll have to pay me again. Or something. Cause we all know that cat can do w/e it wants to. It can easily sneak back to Zhao Feng. Or he can legit just ask if they are the same Liu family from the Great Canopy country. If yes, proceed to gift cat to young miss to get good impression. Cat can always sneak away after getting help. Or am I missing something here. No like seriously I can't comprehend.

I was thinking that she is branch family going back to main family for reports or something.

Only reason I can think of is that it can't fly for 5 days straight or however long it might take to cross. I guess it could be a danger flight area, but that sounds weird, so I would think unlikely.

 

Its a magic river that you can't fly over. and also that magic river "somehow" ensures that the MC's home country has less than 1/10th the magic energy. resulting in poorer cultivation, and fewer natural resources.

why anyone at all remains in said country is a mystery. they should be sending talented youth's across the river to a sponsoring organization
