I don't claim to be a expert on the workings of a monarchy, but I assume marrying a commoner to be a taboo and marrying a bastard to be an insult and marrying someone not even tied by blood to the royal family to be something unwanted.
If the princess was going to get married, it would be to the prince, as this will strengthen the ties between the two countries and the princes's side can get more out of it when the kingdom is recaptured.

I am interested in picking this but Skythewood seems to be translating the light novels. Since I have no access to the light novels, I was planning on translating the web novel from chapter 34 which is where another translator dropped it. If readers are interested, I will continue with the web novel or pick another novel if they are not
