also, it's now obvious that in a healthy planet there is an upward mutual spiral. as people grow and die their souls/MA energy naturally get recycled by the planet, the system just MASSIVELY enhances the cultivation rate, like using industrial fertilizer on crops instead of just water. the stronger the planet gets the stronger the souls of those living there, meaning their maximum capacity for MA energy goes up. think about it, the students had thousands of skill points, more then anyone on the planet could get in a lifetime and they were only in highschool. this is because earth is healthy, so the souls are healthy, so even small earth soul is incredibly powerful, relatively speaking.

 

Or they were rewarded for their "sacrifice" with some of the MA energy used to blow up their classroom, probably just the residue from the detonation of the Hero and Demon Lord.

they weren't given extra, they already had extra. why else would they have different amounts? and d said they HAVE extra affinity because they know videogames.

 

Your explanation doesn't explain the massive difference between students, a lot of which had the same gaming experience. D loves games, she may have granted a bonus to a few people she played with anonymously online before, like maybe Shun, but I don't think that's the main reason they had so many skill points. It's more likely they came into the system with a massive amount of fresh experience points, from living diverse lives with lots of memories, and got a boost from the blastwave that killed them. In which case, it would matter where they were in the classroom when Potimas' bomb went off, Shuu saw a crack in space around the front of the class and he also had the most points of any reincarnated.

Edit: Well at least this got cleared up in the story, a bit. Shun was an above average person, who was also a slacker and a gamer, he also wasn't the strongest reincarnator.

She basically went on a suicide mission when she used that ruler skill against Potimas' robot. Now it just depends on whether Kumoko-sama wants to put in the effort to save her

 

Before she used it, her soul was so distorted that she couldn't be sent to the cycle of reincarnation already. So she was going to die anyway thus the recklessness in killing Potimas and his robots
