Lachiels Work In Progress things..

I've been asked to show what I've been working on since It's taking forever to actually finish my sig so I'll be posting here what I've been working on.

Just a FYI: I'm only cutting things out to practice.. Yes I know about the magic wand but I don't like the way it sometimes cut's colors out and edges.

Umu You do know there's a way in Photoshop to automatically remove all the black/white sections and turn them transparent right? It's not the magic wand, and works allot better than it

 

I've found that I usually lose color in other things. Theres always traces of white in things you'll never expect. I found out the hard way with one of the pictures I did..
Heres a example of where I did it. This character had a white background.. and it ate the boundaries on the legs and stuff.
And here's another where the white turned transparent, and became black with the background.


At that point I just decided I would just do it the hard way, and do it by hand -shrug- Makes it feel more like >mine< and not someone elses..

 

I know exactly how you feel ^-^ I love spending a super long time doing something on PS and seeing the final results. Especially when I do something from scratch and just go with the flow without anything in mind

Today I found more things to start cutting out.. can only hope it turns out well >_<

It's going to be in my sig. =P I'm going to be putting them in my sig somewhere.. just gotta find 2 more things to put in then arrange then work on the background.. which im dreading.

 

No real progress tonight. She seems a bit more fuzzy then I would like I'll have to go over later.. HMmm

oh everything they're so big though. You'll spoiler them I hope.

 

? They all won't be individual pictures.. they will be going into the sig I just need to cut out the backgrounds so I don't have a mismatch of backgrounds that I have to paint over later

 

This sounds like one chaotic sig. Unless they're all going to be part of a background or something.
I'm pretty lazy with sigs, don't use too many images.

Although I don't like sigs that size anymore, I like thin ones (heightwise) now.

 

they will all be part of the back ground. I kind of want to make a scene of them "living" in the sig or something.. :/ i don't know It's a WiP I might end up only putting in 2-3 characters -shrug-

 

@Lachiel you should try to use the Paths tool, just practice a little and it'll help you get smoother edges. It's way easier than slowly erasing the background.

 

I'll try it out, I've never been good at the creativity stuff... I'm more the logical type person.. ( I do hate coding though.. even if it just clicks.. Q_Q )

 

Same here haha. Just gotta get used to it though, you'll get a sense of what works and what doesn't soon enough!

And you're really choosing to kill yourself with these kind of pictures hahaha.

 

look man.. I'm not trimming that one, he asked why I didn't use the photoshop color replacer.. and I showed him why =P.

 

I also use the pen tool. I enlarge the image then use the pen.

 

I tried the pen tool back when I took a graphic design class in High School.. I hated it with a passion I could never get it perfect or it just look's wrong. -shrug- I have OCD at weird times
