I like MC from Warlock of the Martial World.

He is benefits first kind of practical guy.
Tries his best to avoid future troubles and even his acts of benevolence are (mostly) calculated for his benefits.

Has a good scaling Cheat AI.

Little, if not none, weaboo kawai stuff.

Not a dense retarded Mary Sue.

Niether is he a Chu Feng/Lin Feng type hot blooded mass murder.

Only similar thing I can think of is Du Wei from Law of Devil...

My recommendation is GDK, the protagonist also as the same ideals but imo it isn't as well realized

I recommend Reincarnator and Awakening. Both of the MC are quite similar to Leylin, though more laid back.

 

i would say Law of the Devil they share the same pragmatism though the MC for that can still have fun and isnt as bad

As for Death March... too many Jap stereotype tropes for my taste. Will try the others though!!

MC is very worried that his cheat will be discovered by others so typically tries to play things safe and avoid actions that could be himself showing off. MC just wants to live his new life with his 5 sex slaves/party members. Basically Death March without lolis and with (typically not explicit) sex.

So what its an rpg world is p. fun to read in short bursts.

As for slave harem in labyrinth of the other world... well the mc is pragmatic all right but reading the novel is such a chore. It looks like I am reading the diary of someone playing those grindy mmos without skipping any details...

 

Is the first line a statement or a question? If it is a statement, I do agree that the story is better if you read several chapters at a time and not read them as they are translated (awhile ago there was a chapter a day being translated so it was not as back as the 1-2 per week that is currently happening).

You are correct about the pace of Slave Harem (and one of the biggest criticisms of the novel). I will admit that the pace is not for everyone, but the MC is the same type you were looking for, so I suggest it.
