Lately I've been thinking about self-studying some higher level math. However I'm no longer in school. Does anyone have any free resources or books/textbooks they recommend for self-studying topics like differential equations or linear algebra?
It's less torture and more of a regret. I think I regret not taking enough math classes when I was in university. I'm not as well prepared for what I'm currently doing as I should be.
You can always look at some universities sites. Some professors post their script online without the need for a password. Others just post papers the students have to solve ans hand in weekly. While the latter won't teach you about it, it's a good way to practise.
check some video like this also : https://www.khanacademy.org/math/differential-equations and there are some university offering kinda free online teachings and tests
If i'm not wrong there should be some site that have digital books for free, i think bill gates made one this site with his wife. Try searching Bill gates free course books Edit : here i just typed what i said and i already found this : https://openstax.org/ Don't be a lazy bum and just search on internet... ^^
Funnily enough i'm getting tortured by Linear Algebra this year. I would send you presentations from my school, but sadly for you they are in czech, so i don't think they would help you that much lol.
Just ask one of the students about the names of the books then go to a nearby library and borrow them.
Buy a book call geick it's a small 8 dollar reference manual for basically all math. In terms of textbooks it's pretty easy to find free. PDF versions online. Just Google linear algebra and diff EQ text books and you should fine some. Then search for a PDF of those bookss
Yeah i searched and i managed to verify that this is indeed bill gates' site in less than 30sec so again here is his site : https://openstax.org/
