Hi there, I don't know if Xenforo uses innodb or myisam but some of the threads in the community games are hitting the hundreds/thousands pages. If XF uses innodb like VB it may affect the load time of particular thread(s) Will there be anything implemented to close a thread after it hits a certain amount of posts? I.e. Closing thread and creating a new thread v2 etc. Not that it matters at the moment as there are only a few threads which are hitting it. However I'm talking into the future as the board grows and as threads grow it'll affect server load time quite substantially. Just a passing thought and suggestion for the future of Novel Updates! Thanks,
Absolutely! You're right, there are forums with threads which hit thousands if not more pages. However, it isn't to say that if NUF continues the way it is now there won't be a time when it will hit that bump in the road. The most important thing to pull isn't what other forums can do, it's what can THIS forum can do? In saying that this isn't a major issue but something to ponder and look into moving forward
Well, if it makes you feel better, there's probably a hard cap so as not to fuck up the server. We just dont know what it is
