I've just started reading Mei Gongqing and am around chapter 15. I'm very curious to know the identity of the person she loved and who caused the female MC to burn herself in her past life. Does anyone know? Ohh...and does anyone know who she will end up with?
Wait, wasn't it mentioned? Spoiler It's the commander that should have ended with her cousin but since she changed in her second life instead of her cousin, the commander fell for her instead
It's not realy a spoiler >< It has been stated in early chapter that her (ex) husband is Ran Min, and that's also the reason why she adamantly refused marrying him. No idea who will be her partner in this lifetime, but I bet Wang Qilang will be the winner
Yup, her husband in the past life was Ran Min, you'll get to met him rather early. Well maybe not early in chapter's number. The earlier chapter is shorter and that's why the translator was able to release them in bulk, as we go on the chapter will get considerably longer.) And I've read it till the end, she'll end up with Spoiler: ;) Wang Qilang
Thanks guys. It wasn't mentioned before chapter 15 though...but I found out around chapter 20. Ohhh...it's nice she ended up with him. I'll continue reading it then. xD
I forget where I found the spoilers but it went something like this: Super spoilery... Spoiler At some point the rom-com between the female MC and Wang Qilang gets so ridiculous that the maids take it into their hands to dose them with an aphrodisiac. They get it on (questionable non-con ensues). The girl is horrified after because she's essentially ruined for marriage to anyone else and she doesn't want to be a concubine (that's all she can ever be to WQ because of their different stations in life). They're still in love though, so blah blah blah angsting and running away and tete-a-tetes. She gets so desperate that she asks the Emperor (?) to let her go to a nunnery -- this sets a fire under WQ's bottom and he realizes he can either give up his 'station' and marry the love of his life or lose her and keep his station. No more taksies-backsies or wishy-washiness. He goes after her of course and they get married (finally). In an epilogue or something, I think it's mentioned that their kids turned out pretty hilariously. Their sons looked bishoujo-style (i.e. more like girls) and their daughter(s?) turned out handsome like a man. If you're wondering about Ran Min, he eventually realizes (I think some of the other life's memories filtered into his mind somehow) that he had his chance with the female main character and ruined it.
@scriptor - ...I'm not liking how they end up together...but I'll still finish it. Thanks. @Foxil - Thank you. xD
Spoiler: Ran Min He didn't end up with anybody significant. His fate is, -following the real history-...... He was last seen in the main story in a battle bc the tribe leader (Murong sth) kidnapped CR to provoke both WH and RM. Murong wanted to provoke them one by one, starting with WH but he didn't expected for WH to ask help and cooperate with RM. Murong ripped CR's clothes to make it look like she was raped by his men. RM saw that and told CR that if she was abandoned and had nowhere to go, she can come to him. In the discontinued epilogue, RM (like the real history) had distancing himself from the empire and forming a new country of his own, and proclaimed himself as the king. (so I think he must take a few concubines.) SY disagreed with RM and stayed in the empire. He only appeared once looking at CR and her family from distance.
Did he (RM) see the past life, where he and CR still together? And what really happened in CR's nunnery request from the emperor? Oh and thankies for the spoilers~
@IamMeowChie you're welcome Spoiler: CR's Request to the Emperor After CR went to the capital city and requesting to become nun, RM was haunted by nightmare about the past life (still in pieces). So to relieve the nightmare, he come secretly to the capital. Upon arrival, he was surprised to hear from SY that CR become nun. Then he met and spoke with CR. Initially, he thought that CR become a nun bc she was to ashamed to be his wife after the lost of virginity. CR laughed at his statement and said sth to RM (I forgot what exactly... I think she taunted him that she had even refused to marry WH, someone who she loved, so why would she wanted to marry him.) but the night after, RM dreamt about the complete sequence of their past life. Btw, their whole conversation was heard by WH's subordinate (secret ninja or sth) and reported back to WH. CR already planned to ask the emperor. Upon meeting, she realised that this emperor is an eccentric emperor who seems to be taking fun on making his official angry with outrageous actions. The emperor also disliked WH who he considered to be artificial? (anyway he disliked WH for being too perfect and longed to rip up that haughty expression from WH). So while requesting, CR winked at the emperor, and he seemed to think that it would be fun, so he granted her a luxurious temple near the town (I think it used to be use by royal/nobles).
after RM dreamt the complete sequence of their past life, what is his first reaction? did he still chasing CR after that? What made QL to change his mind about having a harem and chase CR from being a nun? @~@ (did I write it correctly? I felt confuse)
@IamMeowChie Spoiler: RM's Dream After he woke up, he laughed at the irony and I think he somehow then understood why CR rejected him, so he left the city the day after. The novel didn't mentioned him again until the time when he rescued CR from being kidnapped by Murong. Spoiler: WH's marriage WH never planned of having bunch of harem. He just thought that with his current position, CR would be unsuitable and had difficulties, since as WH's official wife, she would have then to interact with other Wang's madams and went to bunch of upper class party and palace ceremonies etc, where the people there would certainly belittled her due to her low status. He didn't want her to have such hardship and that's why on the two times CR asked him, he could only gave her status as honourable concubine. It was told in the short epilogue from WH'S pov... Spoiler: WH's POV of the earlier chapters (part of the epilogue) At first he just irritated bc he knew CR was just using him to get rid of bothersome betrothal, so he was bothering her. And then when he found her interesting, he realised that CR hadn't felt in love with him. After the event at the sieged city with SY, he wanted to make her felt in love with him bc he realised that a woman such as CR was rare. Then at the time when CR was missing in the mountain and he rescued her, he knew that CR has fallen in love with him. So after, when he heard that CR promised to marry RM, he was irritated and wondering why CR would marry RM when she loved him instead. Then the city was besieged, WH close maids thought that the whole city, especially WH would be dead by tomorrow, and the maids knew that WH & CR loved each other so why would they still restrained them self.... So they went ahead on their own and drugged both WH and CR. They told CR to take a bath in some room and escorted the drugged WH there. Anyway I won't delved further, things happened (u know what) and WH thought CR would be happy, but instead she was in despaired that she wanted to kill herself by riding horse over the wall through the battle field. As WH saw that moment, he cried and realised that he loved CR very much and vow to never let her go again. So I think he decided to chase her since before CR became nun. After that he become very possessive of CR, almost yandereish.
oh~ maybe RM is having a guilt feeling. ( •w•) As for QL… huh! serve him right~ now he knows that CR is really serious in having a simple husband and wife relationship minus the wife ranking blah blah. fu fu fu~ ( *w*)
Spoiler: the deeds & pregnancy? At the first time no, but after CR was rescued from the kidnapping, they did it a few (many) times. At the beginning, CR refused bc if she got pregnant then the people would be in doubt of the child parentage (since they suspected that CR was raped in the enemy camp), but then WH said no matter what happened, he would recognise the child as his. (this is why I was in doubt of whether WH believed CR when she said that she was not raped.....) They did the deed few times in carriage. And then there were people who passed them and asked why was the army (WH's private army) was very orderly yet the carriage was shaking Anyway, sometimes before they reached the capital, CR found out that she was pregnant.
really?! QL is really a beast, not giving CR a chance to make a new move ( =_=). Did QL know about CR's pregnancy? and what is his reaction? did he has a hint that the child in CR's womb is his?
Spoiler: WH's reaction CR didn't told him, he also didn't say anything, but later he admitted that he had known about her pregnancy since he noticed that her period didn't came. It was when CR was injured in one of his plot. CR asked him whether he cared or not. He answered that he cared, it's just yet that there were many enemy and not suitable time to have a child. There aren't any hint later, he just told CR that if she got pregnant, he would recognised the child as his. Later in the discontinued epilogue, WH often lamented whether his 1st son had grudge against him since he was in the womb. (the 1st son often plotted against WH, well actually all 3 of them, but the 2nd and 3rd sons were more of pranking)
The one that became RM's subordinate, Sun Yan? Spoiler: Sun Yan Once CR asked him (forget the exact sentences) that goes like this.... if there were no objection from his family, would he marry her? He answered that the fact was that he couldn't take her as his wife... So from then on, their relationship was more like brother and sister. (In fact he was more like a brother to her than her real biological brother) In the epilogue, he even went as far as forcing WH & CR's 1st son to call him "uncle".
