Well the tl hasn't come back even after new year ( although it only has been 15 days) he could have given some little notice... So it can be presumed that it is available for taking...
The dude worked hard and he's still actively translating Shura's Wrath so he's not dead. He already made an announcement stating that he would be returning to it soon, so just wait another month and then it would be safe to say he's dropped it.

So basically you are talking about the one from chapter 165 where he said he is moving, getting married and that there would be a chapter once in a while until December and after that it would get back to normal... and I don't mind that but it's mid January and nothing no news whatsoever and wasn't he the founder of chinanovel? There was a statement from the new site saying that he vanished so they just created a new site... so I doubt he would be coming after he abandoned his own site after all he could just check in once in a while even without new chapter...
