So, I was catching up on the new translated chapters by Defiring, and got confused. In Chapter 52, the narrator mentions that Lifa says something about Harold being a "test subject" when she tells Harold what she knows about him. There is no mention of him being a "test subject" in the previous chapters though? Did the author skip over the rest of the flashback, and just assumes we'll make the connection, or did I miss something somewhere? Because this feels like info we'd only be sure of if we read spoilers.
Spoiler The sword have active mode where it used the user's life in exchange for incredible strenght. As long as Harold didn't activate it, he should be fine (whoops that's a death flag right there)
Hmmm it is only me who thinks this arc is really sub-par? Honestly those 10-ish chapters dont add anything to the plot. And the fact that MC became the villain lackey out of nowhere really takes a few stars of this... I just cant understand how it could fall so much after 1 chapter. Honestly now that i caught up i feel i will just end up forgetting this if this keep up...
Sigh... What to say about Lifa? I dont really hate harem or her but i really cant get over how easy it was to manipulate these 2 (L included). The thing i hate the most is see the protagonist being dragged down by secondary characters (Heroines included). I can totally see the misunderstanding this will cause. It reeks of cheap plot device and it was the moment i realized i wasnt enjoying the fiction anymore... And, as unbelievable as it sounds, i keep getting a 'NTR' vibe between her and the mad scientist. At least i can see she betraying the MC because she is naive.

The mistake the author did was trying to introduce all the game's important characters before the fourth volume, because Volume 4 starts around the time when the game's story started, which is why not much seems to happen in this volume and there is less action than in the first two books. But there were some good parts too, I really liked the part with Francis/Erica and even the ones with Justus. Still, what this means is that the author, hopefully, had lots of ideas for volume 4, but not many for volume 3.
