Discussion Mystic Messenger (Otome Game App)

There's so much to say about this game that I don't even know where to start. I'm just surprised there's no thread about this yet (unless I missed it somewhere....?).

So, a brief summary: in Mystic Messenger, you join a group called RFA (Rika's Fundraising Association) and interact with the members, who you don't meet "physically" in the game until later, through a texting app. You participate in Chatroom Events that appear and close at different times of the day, private texting with the members, calls with the members (that only occur when your app is open and your phone is on so don't worry about it interrupting class or work- a concern of my friend's lol), and emailing different guests who you are trying to convince to come to this party RFA arranges every two years. The plot is carried out over 11 days, since this app is a time-based game. The capture-able characters include (from left to right in the picture under the spoiler tab) Jumin, Yoosung, Jaehee, 707, and Zen. Those are their usernames in the chatroom by the way. And in case you haven't noticed, this is a Korean based game. If you haven't played this before, you should give it a try because- seriously, it is one of the best otome game I have ever come across.

Where can I download it?

 

It's on the google play store or itunes but I strongly recommend you start playing at 12:00 AM. Time really matters for this type of game.

 

@vsukio You know, when I was trying to find any mentions of Mystic Messenger on NUF, I found your status update~ I was really shocked when I realized that your avatar was 707. One of the CGs is spoiled for me.... But who cares- Luciel as a kid is so cute <3!!

 

Ahh sorry about that-- maybe I should change it to one of my friends fanart for 707 or Jaehee. Guess you can already figure which characters are my favorite lmao.

 

Do you have to pay?

 

No it's actually free! Unless you decide to buy hourglass which makes you finish up the routes faster or gives you back a chat that you missed.

@OverlyFriendly And sometimes they give you free hourglasses when there's maintenance ^^. Some advice: make sure you're careful with how you spend your hourglasses because once they're gone, they're gone even if you didn't save that file. Plus, some routes only open with the use of hourglasses. I believe they give you 30 to start with, you sometimes get them from in the chatroom, and you get one for every new guest you invite to the party.

Oh maybe you should put unknown on there. I have some friends who are really into him and surprisingly a lot of people includes him in their MM charm set (as well as Rika and V).

is there a difference in getting it at 12:00pm instead of 12:00am?

 

Yes! It'll label "day 1" as incomplete due to you missing whatever chat is in betweet 12AM - 11:59AM although it is still possible for you to continue onto day 2 once it's 12 AM again. Just be sure to get enough hearts with everyone (but mainly your specific target) in order to prevent getting the "bad common route ends".

 

Yeah, I considered that but I wasn't sure if his name would be revealed in a different route so I decided to stick with RFA members until I find out. But I'll add him now ^^.

So far all I know is it works for iOS and android mobile devices so I'm not 100% sure if it can work on tablet devices or not. Sorry!
