hmm, maybe implement a discussion button/comment section? I know @remy911 don't like that addition but if likes/upvoting are to be there and is the default sorting, might as well comment on something that is on the front page when the actual content is contradictory.

Additionally, there are a lot of reviews criticizing other reviews anyways.

If you want to say something about series, you should write your own review on it. Disagreeing with someone else opinion while writing below their review is quite rude and can create a hassle for some reviewers who does not want to argue with fans/haters. That's why there is no downvote system and everyone can express their opinion. You can still say the same something that you want to write in the comment in your review. If anyone can just use popular opinion to say something opposite below it that would make this whole system pointless.

 

@Tony Is there a way to undo reviews? I only reviewed one novel, however it shows I reviewed about 5- some of the novels, I haven't even searched for.

 

Maybe what I'm saying doesn't get across. If there are a lot of fan on a series, all of the positive review will be on the front page, burying reviews that are reasonable. If it's easy to create an account in here for likes, someone could vote brigade into liking a review when the reviewer is actually deceiving everyone (this is actually the reason why I don't like the like/dislikes button as haters could also exploit the system). Sorting the review system by how many stars is a better implementation to that (Sort of what I do when I read amazon reviews since I don't immediately trust five star reviews) but discussions doesn't hurt.

It's not rude unless you rage on it and unless that poster is just trolling. Pointing out mistakes is very normal. There's a lot of review already elaborating the reviewer below or wanting to clarify some issue by the reviewer below and etc etc which is getting redundant.

 

If there are fans than there are haters too which can also use the system you're talking about to mislead others with writing comments there. So i still think it will just create a lot of pointless drama. Sorting reviews by stars is a good alternative for it though.

 

I only suggested it because tony implemented likes. I've talked to remy ages ago about that and I did agree that comments can lead to pointless drama.

Anyways, I like the update except for the having to upvote a review

some suggestion though, is it possible to add edit button to edit my review and rating?
for example, i want to change my rating for divine protection of many gods from 3 to 2 after reading some updates.

I don't know if I'm just incompetent and don't know how to do it or if it doesn't work right now but how can I change the stars I have given to a novel?

Is there anything in place to stop people voting based on the reviewer and not the review? People already have likes for every single review that they have written even when their reviews are terrible. Can I just ask a few friends on the forum to go and like all my reviews?

You can open someone's list of reviews and then just go liking them all.
