Ouch, just got laid off. Well, been with the current place for over 11 years. It's time for a change anyway -asset management has been uninteresting for a while now. Maybe I can focus on my VR stuff now. Still it's somewhat of a shock.
Day 2 Given what happened I could've just ended this closed door training early but I actually didn't read anything. Instead I played several hours of Serious Sam Fusion with my son.
I fell asleep on the train. Only slept 2 hours last night. Was going to say high strung. Need to relax or won't be able to sleep so I'll probably read to take my mind off things. Need to find an employment lawyer to review my severance. Will do that tomorrow, have a terrible headache now.

Last day at work. Mood shifting between hopeful for the future to sad over leaving after such a long time to a sense of unease over the unknown future. Need to come up with a daily schedule and stick to it.
Thanks. Been kind of down looking for a lawyer to review my severance. Need to have that settled before I can focus on the future. Made it past a month! Then I spent the next couple of days catching up in about half of the series I follow. Started another mini break of 5 days but then got booted from work so I ended the closed door cultivation early.

On GDW chapter 1026. Saw an open position involving OCR/ICR machine learning in the finance industry. It's not VR/AR but still interesting. Need to focus and update my resume. Carpe diem and all that.
On GDW 1084. Looks like most of the A series that are following are not updating very frequently. Sent out my first resume, got a response from their HR saying that I was asking outside of their range. I'm willing to compromise even though it's substantially lower because location is nice and the work more interesting. We'll see how this goes. Went to a VR/AR/MR event. Feel inspired, plan to spam some HEMA sword and staff instructors to see if they have an interest in making VR training content. Will also try to demo my VR Point Shooting Trainer at the range I go to. Received the MS Mixed Reality Headset (they really need a better name) yesterday. Guess I'll create an unboxing video today.
