yeah I have heard it be compared to worm. Great story btw, definitely an influence, but then again there are a lot of influences for the story. Stone Burners? is that one good? Glad you liked it, how far have you read?

 

i was reading vespidian over the last few days (Ark seven ch4). great job btw. also i read the chapter on your thoughts and concerns; don't worry you will always have fans (myself included) to support you so don't feel down. we've got your back.

stone burners is pretty damn good. haven't read it in a while (waiting for new chapters) but it's definitely a good one. also another story that i feel is kinda similar to your own story and stone burners would be the undying prince. its got a slightly insane main (for slightly similar reasons as your own main) with voices in his head and everything. to make a direct comparison to your own work; a lot less sexual tension and a lot more killing. the main has similar instincts that he has to deal with (he doesn't hold out on eating people though) and he has to sometime make extremely hard choices (when you read the dream Ark you will understand). no bunnies and sunshine in this novel; it's all turnips from here.

all of the voices in his head are really messed up. in order of appearance; you got a dragon, a stalker/rapist, a wolf, an insane guy and a killer/rapist

Does a murderous AI mounted on a superdreadnought hell-bent on revenge counts?

 

i was actually reading this not too long ago but i got bored of it after a while. the side stories pulled away from the main story whenever something interesting was happening and it just became annoying after a while.

 

I like to recommend A Green Sun Illuminates The Void. It has a female protagonist and a lot of action, but she starts out mostly human, though she becomes somewhat less so over time. She has a tendency to grow insectile body parts, but long term, she's sort of becoming an eldritch abomination. Essentially, the main character (Louise from ZnT) was very high nobility from a nobility=magic setting, except that her magic never works right resulting her having a big inferiority complex. Then, due to her insecurities, when tries to summon a familiar, instead she... triggers a cosmological accident that results in her magic being replaced with growing superpowers (Exalts as a GSP). Wonderful. Except for the itsy bitsy little minor detail that the nature of her resulting powers is profoundly contrary to her religion... and her humanity... and the balance of world power... and Fate itself...

Or in a vaguely similar vein, Variant Strain. In which the main character *thinks* he's human, and spends the next 50 chapters gradually realizing just how very very wrong he was to think such a thing.

The MC reincarnates as a 'human' but with the bloodline of a dragon, which you find later on to have some impact on her future, is kind of a genderbender as the main character was male but reincarnated as a female
