The only thing I see that's a bit better than NEW GATE is that MC is more calculating. Otherwise, quite similar imo

I don't mean skills and items. But the story, Overlord's story and plot developments are a masterpiece but New gate, not so much.

 

Kyuketsuki hime. A high leveled vampire princess got transported to another world alongside her op minion. Pretty similar with Overlord.

Tsuki ga Michibiku. MC tamed two OP monsters into two beauty who become his confidant. Then he build a country for monster with their help. Quite typical wimpy japanese MC, but the personality of his two girls is quite interesting.

And if you dont mind fanfic try this, A Questionable Burden of Leadership of Troll Emperor by Noodlehammer. A crossover story where Naruto has too much power and too much time. A bored Naruto trying to conquer Stargate universe. Pretty fun stuff full of empire building, politic and battle in space. You dont even need to know Stargate plot to enjoy this story.

Synopsis is like:
Eight players are somehow transported to a place that had uncanny resemblance with their Guild's Holy Land from the MMORPG [Rage Against Heaven Online]. Thus they found themselves stuck in this new world. A strange blend of game and reality.
What is their purpose summoned to this world? How should they respond to natives politics? What should the next breakfast menu should be?
Between hunting in dungeons and managing the country, they found that being the strongest is not that convenient like the game was.
Due to my utter lack of synopsis writing ability....

The story is pretty light an not grimdark though... (although people do want to see blood for some reason)
