Chapters 6-8 summary~

-Lian's goal for studying hard is to find ways to reduce casualties in the village once the monster invasion comes.
-Lian notices Alfred's missing and that he doesn't look good recently (Alfred sits behind him in class). There's also an observation that Alfred must like books because they see each other in the library often. LOL
-...yup, I knew it. This oblivious MC. Alfred finds ways to talk to him a lot, usually about the books they read. Lian can't run away because he's too enthusiastic about the reading material and forgets to run until it's too late. XD
-while in the carriage going home (there's a storm), Lian suddenly remembers something from the original storyline. Because Alfred is a commoner and among the 'talented' group at school, this guy hires some thugs to kill Alfred. Alfred doesn't die of course, but he's left severely injured and thinking that he's fated to walk alone and can only support himself all the time.
-Lian is a bleeding heart and decides to look for Alfred under the excuse that he should just take a look and make sure the scene is occurring. (his excuses sound so weak lol)
-while on the carriage, they come across two crying students who talk about a strong 'monster.' You can guess they came out for the worst against Alfred. Lian wavers between letting this 'event' proceed and checking up on Alfred. Checking up on him wins out. Alfred was up against 7-8 people (not including the ones who ran) and is very injured. Lian drags Alfred to the carriage and takes him to the village doctor. The carriage driver looks at Lian a bit strange (because since when was 'Lian' such a good guy lol).
-the village doctor is... a bear. Literally. He reveals that Alfred's magical power problem is actually almost a disease -- it affects his strength, amplifying it, and Alfred basically can't control his rampaging power. Dr. Bear prescribes Alfred some medicine and Lian helps give him the medicine. Dr. Bear observes that Lian seems to have become gentler.
-Lian admits to himself that he made the wrong decision as 'Lian' but that he can't be anything other than himself (i.e. he sucks too much at acting). He pays Dr. Bear for the special medicine (which costs a lot) and says that it's not a big deal since 'unlike you, I have a lot [of money].' Which sounds bad but if you look at what Lian's doing, sort of negates it all.
-Alfred is still knocked out. He starts mumbling in his sleep while they're in the carriage and Lian figures out why; when Lian was still in his original world with all his relatives dead, there was a time he got a high fever and just called for someone though he knew there was no one who would answer. ;-;
-Lian feels bad for Alfred and holds his hand. Alfred gradually calms down. They arrive at the church and Lian gives Alfred over to the old nun, Marienne (Marie). Marie was afraid at first since the Lord (Lian's family) doesn't like them, but is okay once she hears that it's to drop off Alfred. And she can't pay for the medication, but Lian says to consider it a donation. He also wants her and the other children to keep it a secret from Alfred.
-Marie smiles and says that the dream she had a while ago must be about this! She had a dream about the Goddess-sama! Goddess-sama said that a gentle person (with silver hair) who would teach and lead Al would show up soon, and to please help that person. Marie thinks that Lian is an angel of heaven who borrowed 'Lian's' figure. LOL.
-Lian is relieved because there's someone he can actually talk to about things like this now (not in depth, but better than nothing).
-Marie gives poor stressed Lian a hug~
-2 days later, it's like nothing ever happened to Alfred. Lian's stomach hurts because of all the stress. XD
-Alfred follows him. When asked about the 'day before yesterday,' Lian used an excuse he prepared and said he went straight home. Of course, Alfred doesn't buy it and grabs his hand, examining it. He's... clearly looking for clues that Lian helped him. Such a smart boy! He keeps muttering what he thought he felt and Lian keeps saying it must have been a dream. Turns out Alfred's looking for injuries to his hand because Alfred (who forgets his strength) held on so tightly that time that Lian's hand turned red and swollen -- of course, Lian used high-spec healing items to remove the traces. Then Alfred starts rolling up Lian's sleeve to the elbow because HE'S NOTICED AN UNHEALED INJURY. There was a mark that Lian forgot to remove and it goes up a bit from his wrist. Lian keeps saying it's from a branch or something. Lian is all proud of himself while Alfred looks frustrated. Then Alfred licks his wound in a sexy move that makes him splutter and turn red.
-Lian is so embarrassed that he kicks Alfred in the shin and runs away 'like a scared rabbit' while calling Alfred a pervert, sexual harassment case, etc. XDDD

 

Chapter 9 & extra from Alfred's POV:
-Lian is now 15 yrs old. After talking with Marie, he's gotten in the habit of going to church on Saturdays and Sundays. It works as both a check-up to see if Marie received any news from the goddess and a way to run away from his bro-con brother. He's also given his own 'research room' for his magic tool experiments.
-Lian likes to have fun/play with the cute little buns at the church (and be healed. Cuteness is justice~). He also bribed them with candy to keep quiet about his presence there to Alfred. XDDD (this works because on weekends, Alfred is out to work early and back late)
-Mr. Butler supports Lian as usual. Lian remarks that his family's pretty distant: father's off to do the stuff a Lord should do, mother is immersed in high society and fashion, his elder brother is forced to apprentice under his father (since he's becoming the next lord).
-Lian made a little prototype alarm magic tool -- it sends an alert if monsters approach. He feels a little dizzy... but forces himself to go on because he needs to make maps and other things to prepare for the invasion in 3 years.
-Lian goes to the church. As usual, he lets himself be healed by the cute buns and donates sweets. Sugar is expensive because they can only be bought from the tropics, apparently. So normal people can't get access to it. Then he goes to his 'private laboratory' on the second floor to work some more.
-He finally decides to take a break but ends up collapsing on the stairs. He passes out. When he comes out of it, Alfred's there and asking if he's okay. Lian notices a bandage on Alfred's arm -- he broke/fractured his arm while working. Lian is all worried and wants to give him recovery medicine), but Alfred reassures him he got it taken care of by Dr. Bear. Alfred wants Lian to take the medicine instead because his face is 'pale blue.' Lian is confused for a moment before he realizes he has MANA DEPLETION (or 'magical deficiency). It's like anemia and and can't be cured by medicine.
-Alfred asks if he wants to be taken to Dr. Bear, and Lian refuses because there would be a lot of issues (ex. his hate-poor-people family would find out, etc.). But since he's so tired and can't get much out, he ends up yelling at Alfred to leave and go away (but also noting that he might be hated... ;-;
-Meanwhile, Alfred's talking aloud and wondering if 'transferring mana' will work. They learned about it in class and it can be done through skin-to-skin (slow) or swapping body fluids like saliva (fast). Requirement is that the two people performing it have to be compatible. Otherwise, it's more likely to do harm than good and is a terrible experience for both sides. If they're compatible... ohohoho~
-Lian insists on shoving the medicine at Alfred and saying it'll also work as a donation to Marie and the kids... though he follows up with his usual pseudo-villain language and makes it sound insulting. Alfred's sort of expressionless, but then puts his hands on Lian to try the skin-to-skin method, but apparently it's too slow.
-Alfred french kisses Lian. It is... very hot. Apparently they're VERY compatible. *wink wink, nudge nudge*
-when they break off kissing, Alfred's looking at him curiously and Lian is cursing him as a bastard inside. XDDD
-Lian doesn't want to go home (for good reason), so Alfred picks him up in a princess carry to get him to a bed. Lian passes out while on the way there.
-Alfred isn't there when he wakes up. Marie drops by and reminds him not to overwork and to tell him the time -- he has to be home on time so his family won't have questions. But he dreads the bro-con's return...
-next time they meet, it's at school. Alfred's eyebrow is raised and he's walking towards the bunny who is internally screaming how much he doesn't want to talk about what happened the day before. He's saved by the teacher though, since they all have to get into their seats. While passing by, Alfred reminds him to let him know if he needs another magic transfer. LOL. Lian tells him to sit down quick and not say anything. Alfred just laughs at him while Lian is internally calling him a bastard again. XD
-Lian's revenge (planned) is to beat up Alfred during their spar again~

Extra (Alfred's POV) [DARK PAST, so be careful if you're the type who has to watch out for triggers]
-Alfred wakes up in the morning. He just had a dream of his past (and boy it's heavy stuff). He dreamed there were two men running after two people in the dark in the alleys of a town/city.
-the country where he lived with his mother and father was said to be the largest on the continent. It was beautiful, big, full, and a lot of things but the native citizens were harsh to immigrants. Immigrants (like him and his family) were considered barbaric and dirty.
-every few months his dad would come home. Alfred liked hearing stories about foreign countries from him. His dad also talked about a neighboring small country that was gentle and dreamy and had happy people. They used to talk about getting enough money and moving there.
-one day, his father didn't come home. Mom used to tell him that father would come home eventually, but Alfred already knew that either his dad was dead or he had found someplace to settle down and didn't want to return.
-one day after finishing work and shopping at the market, Alfred got chased by two men. He and his mom ran away but they were a woman and child and couldn't run fast. This is a recurring dream.
-he runs and runs. He hears her cry out and he's so scared that he keeps running, leaving her behind. Then he stops because the guilt kicks in (he shouldn't have left behind his mother) and he runs right back.
-his mother's entire body is dyed red and she's collapsed on the ground. He screams. This is where the dream usually ends and all he has to put up with are headaches and nausea for the rest of the day.
-actual event goes on longer. The two men surrounding his mother notice he returned and chase him down. He fights, but a leg is broken and they finally capture him. They have bad expressions and one of the smelly men caresses his neck... he couldn't breathe and his vision was dyed red. When he regains his senses, there was the burned-out, dead bodies of the men on the ground, torn into a mess of flesh and organs. Alfred's hands are red. He screams.
-when he woke up, it was the worst day he'd had.
*note: poor Alfred... dad MIA, mom dead, almost got raped, went berserk (with his insane magic power presumably), then killed people for the first time (even if they were scum).
-what happened afterward: his mom always told him to live and run away, so that's what he did. He gathered the money that he and his mom had carefully saved up and left the country. He left on a wagon carrying livestock (...smuggled out?) and after that avoided people like the plague, heading east towards the country that his dad always talked about. He has the vague idea that he might be able to see his dad.
-he kept walking and walking and doing minor fishing/gathering to stay alive. Eventually hunger and fatigue get to him, so he falls down in the middle of the road.
-a passing good samaritan/villager saw him collapse and felt bad for him, bringing him to the church. After that, he stays with Marie and the kids (as we know). Alfred doesn't know if this is the dream country his dad talked about, but for him living here is like a dream.
-time skip. He goes to school. He notes that Lian used to look at him with 'disgusting eyes' but somehow Lian's gaze is gentler now. He wonders when Lian changed. (LOL Lian sucks so much at acting)
-he came back home to Lian collapsed on the stairs. He figures out it's mana deficiency. He tries to get Lian to go to the hospital or go home, but Lian refuses. Alfred has a minor tsukkomi over this: when did this typical honor student become a delinquent? XD
-Alfred (what a cute smartie) muses that maybe Lian wants to escape from something, so he comes to this church
-Alfred also notes that Lian is actually very gentle despite acting arrogant/cheeky, always offering recovery medicine and the like afterwards. As a result, he's very popular both higher and lower class students... Alfred has to restrain himself apparently. XD
-Uhh... Alfred couldn't restrain himself. He kissed Lian & transferred mana. Then he took Lian to his room and laid him on his bed. Just when he's about to leave, Lian grabs onto him and mutters 'don't leave, don't leave, ...' while shaking and crying. Alfred recognizes that Lian must be lonely, because even though Lian is surrounded by people, he sometimes gets this look in his eyes. Alfred notices it's the same look his mom used to get when she thought about his dad not coming home.
-Alfred was relieved that that dark shade that he used to see in his mother's eyes is disappearing from Lian's. He's been staring at Lian for a while before he comes out of it, and Lian was staring at him unusually while saying 'Alfred, you.....' Then class starts.
-sorta time skip? On days he dreams the event to the very end, Alfred has a very no-good very bad day. He's taken a part-time job as a bouncer at a bar.
-day is pretty bad. He had to wrestle with a couple unruly drunk guys. His physical condition also isn't great. He can't get up and closes his eyes.
-next thing he knows, Lian is calling him. He's dressed up fancy because his family went out to eat. After talking with them, Lian hauls him and and hires a carriage to bring him to the church.
-Lian is worried because Alfred is feverish and wonders if it came from sparring with him in school. Alfred tells him it's actually because he broke up a brawl. No Dr. Kuma for Alfred though, because he says he doesn't have money and he should be fine the next day (you OP protag, arghhhhhh).
-while Lian is taking his pulse, he can smell Lian's scent. It's slightly sweet and unobtrusive, like a wildflower, and relaxing... He recognizes it from that blurry memory he has of that day he got picked up (Lian, you're no match for protag's dog-like nose XD). The fever partially comes from Alfred's magic building up too much again. Lian (embarrassed), offers his wrist for skin-to-skin transfer.
-a lot of tsundere and mana transfer later, Alfred starts noticing that he's growing bigger than Lian. He can't resist (plus skin-to-skin is taking too long) and kisses him again. Lian trembles but lets him. Alfred asks 'a little more?' and Lian doesn't object. So they kiss some more.
-by the time they get to the church, Alfred is mostly okay. Alfred reports he's okay while Lian is sorta limp and red with anger and embarrassment. Alfred tries to get 'a bit more' before Mr. Carriage Driver comes down to tell them they're at their destination before going, 'oh? you were busy?' and gets this grin on his face. (HIGH FIVE FELLOW SHIPPER)
-Mr. Carriage Driver goes on to say that 'what a memorable occasion... love cannot be stopped by different social status... it's good, I remembered my younger days...' The curtains weren't closed so he saw. XDDD
-Lian is tsundere like crazy and keeps insisting it's a life-saving thing. Mr. Carriage Driver just says the company disclaimer about not revealing any personal information and maintaining confidentiality. LOOOOOOL
-Alfred and the driver exchange smiles, Lian keeps denying then kicks Alfred in the shin and calls him a bastard (again). XD
-after Alfred says thanks to Lian for saving him, Lian's face turns red and he turns away~
-Mr. Carriage driver sees all this while smiling and only now drives away~ (I wanna give him cookies for being such a cool shipper~)
-Alfred internally says he finally found that smell (person who saved him) and he won't let him get away. Not that he'll say it out loud, because Lian tends to run away. XD
-next morning, Lian's all tsundere at him again and Alfred has a revelation of sorts. Lian's like this stray cat he knows in the neighborhood. It has a beautiful silver coat and doesn't let people close easily.
-Alfred wonders if Lian will let him touch him when he's older...

Chapter 10 summary:

-it's summer. Unlike some other guys, poor Lian sunburns easily. He has to wear thin long-sleeved shirts and pants.
-teacher explains about an annual event called 'summer outdoor practice' according to MTL. It's basically a survival training summer camp in the mountains. There's also the Test of Courage. (MTL, wtf is 'test of liver' lol)
-worst thing about it is that this is when Alfred (in original story) is supposed to be pushed off a cliff by Lian and his underlings. After getting pushed off, Alfred is besieged by demon dogs and barely manages to stay alive. Then he finds the remains of a priest and knight nearby, picking up a ring that'll help him later after the monster invasion. The ring especially has to be picked up -- in the game, not picking it up = killed by demon king death route because Alfred won't be able to get the 'sword of dawn and twilight' necessary to kill the demon king.
-Lian's stomach hurts because he doesn't want to push Alfred down (this isn't a game, it's real-time so dying is totally possible) and because he has to do it for the ring.
-Lian's looking at Alfred, who's surrounded by a bunch of people. He's sitting at his desk and staring out the window. Then suddenly, his gaze jerks over to Lian and Lian panics. He tries to play it cool by smiling his usual cheeky smile. Alfred raises one eyebrow at him and he's defeated... LOL
-they get into a conversation and somehow Alfred is convinced to come along (probably because he wants more of Lian lol).
-Lian consults with the butler about the trip. The butler reminds him of a kindly grandpa~
-stupid bro-con tries to stop Lian from going, but butler helps Lian out
-only good thing about the bro-con was that he managed to get Lian a private room at the camp
-teacher recruits people for the test of courage. Lian volunteers of course, and his underlings follow. Lian's planning to use this to 'scare' Alfred over the cliff (beyond the fence is where the demon dogs are).
-food survival training. Lian is super disgusted.
-even though Lian has to get Alfred down the cliff, he's also been making a bunch of magical tools for Alfred to use while down there and give them to him (like a flashlight). He doesn't have the opportunity right now though, Alfred's being mobbed so he plans to do it the next day. XDDD
-fitness training. Lian does a tsukkomi at this 'athletic association camp'
-at night: Alfred's paired up with the cutest girl in their grade for the Test of Courage. Lian wonders at his protagonist's privilege. XD
-the girl is wearing impractical clothes (including high-heeled sandals) and clinging on Alfred. Lian's denying being jealous (but who is he jealous of? XD)
-they perform the scare. The girl screamed, lost a sandal, and fell towards the edge of the cliff. Lian automatically pushes the girl out of the way and ends up falling himself, beyond the fence and down the cliff...

 

ho!...Let me guess the mc falls off the cliff and the ml jumps behind him ...also plot ring is found \o/
