Spoiler Nurturing the Hero to Avoid Death

Yup. Pretty much lol. I'll post the chapter summary tomorrow, but basics are:

-Alfred comes to the rescue like a true hero~
-Lian is still worried more about Alfred than himself. Alfred is more worried about him.
-demon dogs come... Alfred chops them up. Somehow.
-Plot device ring, GET
-Lian wants Alfred to leave him behind and get help. Alfred refuses, and carries Lian up.

 

Somehow this scenario is very likely.... I mean lian isn't a protag he does not have the OP body of Alfred!

 

LOL I wish. I'm actually up late typing this up. Gotta go sleep now, zzzzzz...

If I'm not wrong, not only does Alfred carry him (MC) up, he refuses to let him go and stays by his bedside! So sweet! Also I totally missed that part about the girl, my eyes were blurring over because of MTL. It really hurts your brain. Total respect for these summaries.

Busy lol, for some reason RL beating me in the face this weekend. Too much stuff to do, I'll try for a summary today. ^^

Going to do a short basic summary. I've got finals for summer courses this week lol, won't be able to do detailed stuff until the weekend. Continuing from the part about Alfred carrying Lian up:

-Alfred refuses to leave Lian because of what happened with his mother (he left her behind, he refuses to do something like this to someone important to him again)
-All's good, except Lian is a bit confused. Alfred has a relapse (back to the past) while at Lian's hospital bed, then Lian has to karate-chop him back to normal.
-After this event, Alfred is more popular and gets known as 'a hero who confronted a bunch of monsters and saved the princess alone.' Lian is angry. LOL

-More domestic fluff. Lian comes up with these 'batteries' that he has Alfred fill with mana. He's planning to use them to power anti-monster devices he created for the village, among other things. Alfred is off on a long escort mission. 1st demonic monster Alfred encounters is during this trip -- it's nothing to worry about since it's like level 1, but Lian is so worried he loads Alfred with various things
-Alfred wheedles Lian into giving him a 'blessing' before leaving. It involves cheek kisses. But of course Alfred smacks him one on the mouth and turns it into a 'lover's blessing.' XD
-Lian pines while Alfred's gone, Alfred's thinking of Lian, Alfred finds Lian sleeping when he comes back and there's more cute.

-the competition that's the official starting point of the game. Alfred beats Lian as expected, but you can say the bait this time is rather different... Lian, you shouldn't have dangled a promise like that in front of Alfred...
-Lian is offered recruitment into the royal guard/knights (they're uppity like that since Lian's a noble, plus the recruiter is shady). Lian doesn't have a good feeling about this and was planning to refuse anyway (accepting would mean leaving the village and Alfred).
-Recruiter tries to date-rape Lian during the recruitment courtesy dinner meeting. Lian keeps his head long enough to head-boink him and give him a bloody nose before running to Alfred. Alfred's at his job at the bar but the owner(s) were nice enough to let him give Lian some emergency care~ Things get R-rated (no penetration). Consensual though, which is better than the stupid recruiter.
-Lian is embarrassed. Alfred wanted to kill the recruiter but managed to think better of it himself before Lian woke up. :3
-they deal with the recruiter. Apparently he's a corrupt member of the royal guards and the people at HQ happily get rid of him. It was an under-the-table deal between Lian's dad and the recruiter to, er, 'gift' Lian in return for Lian's ensured recruitment. Lian's unhappy but forgives his dad with conditions (like moving/staying more often at the church). The original Lian was the type for which this kind of deal would have worked out, apparently......

-another domestic arc, blah blah blah. Lian also visits his grandfather and that side of the family. Alfred comes with. His grandpa apparently always thought Lian was a granddaughter (?) and has him crossdress. LOL. He's not perverted or anything, he's just a cute grandpa who really wants a granddaughter. Some of the other extended family members are annoying -- this one girl tries to go after Alfred and this gets Lian jealous. Pretty sure Alfred took advantage of this to cuddle with Lian more, ahahaha~ Though they have to be sneaky.
-ballroom scene, Alfred dances with Lian

-return home, blah blah. Lian finally gets a direct line to the goddess, who has turned chibi from overusing her powers.
-their conversation is quite plot heavy. Lian can go to his original world, but Lian refuses this original deal because he wants to stay. Problem is that the goddess has remade the world many times but never managed to save the village no matter what she did (meaning Lian dies too). Lian is determined to stay with Alfred and try to save the village though. Goddess runs away crying because she refuses to let Lian die.
-some angst and sweetness as Alfred is SUPER conscious of that fortuneteller's prophecy and Lian is also aware he might die. They hug and try harder to make barricades, etc. to prepare for monster invasion.

And the novel is still ongoing...

Oh, and according to goddess, original!Lian's soul went to this other place and became a king's mistress. He's super satisfied with his life and doesn't at all mind our Lian (the transmigrator) taking his place.

 

Wait what. WHAT PROMISE. I totally missed this!!

Wow, things are moving pretty fast. I remember when the fics I read were like this, then I started reading Chinese novels and got used to romance blossoming at chapter 300 or so.

 

I get tired after a while with the slow crawl romance in CN novels. This is so much better for my heart. Hehe~

 

Actually, part of why I got into cnovels was because I couldn't stand how some jnovels disregarded plot and character development. They seemed to jump straight into smut. Oh, and the harems. I HATE harems. (I avoid harems in cnovels too~)

I like this novel A LOT because despite the relatively fast romance, there's plenty of character and plot development going on. You really get a feel for the characters and you never feel like they're moving unreasonably fast.

Also, summary for new chapter I MTL'ed for this series. (Chapter 28):

-Alfred's POV!
-Alfred's doing his morning job and drops by the manor. Mr. Butler is kind enough to let him in and make a quick visit to Lian, but also releases a surprisingly strong 'treat him good or else' aura. Alfred breaks out in cold sweat for a bit lol. Mr. Butler's apparently stronger than he looks...
-Alfred is a bit worried about how Lian's not very self aware (already thinking about contacting Butler Dad, hmm?). There's no one guarding the door, plus Lian responds pretty slowly and lets Alfred just come right in (it's unlocked).
-we now know what Lian's room looks like. The main room/study is standard researcher chaos. Books, papers, tools, etc. everywhere. Side room has Lian's canopied bed.
-what a cute moment~ Lian's all sleepy and in pajamas. They trade a few kisses and hugs for a bit before Lian goes back to sleep and Alfred has to go back to work.
-later on in the day, some kids of this family have gone missing. There's a huge commotion in the village as other villagers, the patrol knights (that were sent over by the royal guard, remember them?), some students, and Alfred and Lian talk about what to do. It's suspected that this strong monster bear is going to drag them off and eat them.
-Lian doesn't look good. We know he's thinking about how this is an 'event' and probably some kind of prelude to the monster invasion. Alfred just knows he doesn't look good and is worried (remembering the fortuneteller again...).
-blah blah blah as people discuss more what to do and search for the kids. Lian wants to save the kids even if it's even 1% chance of them being alive. He also has an idea but he's not sure if Alfred will going along with it. But truth is, Alfred's all good because he knows Lian won't ask him to do something without reason.
-minor yandere moment as Alfred says in his mind that 'I won't let the goddess take him,' i.e. letting Lian die
-Alfred getting bad vibes but sticking with Lian as they continue searching

 

OOT: Mob is totally going the slow crawl route. Already fans are screaming about the lack of development in every released post. LOL

 

Oh, thanks a lot! Another detailed summary that's very fluffy. So the two are officially a couple by this time?

 

Chapter 3 should be out in~48 hours.
Chapter 4 and onwards might be released in two parts each...This depends on how fast I can do them while still keeping accuracy.

Yup, they are. They become a couple very early, actually. Have you noticed Alfred orbiting around Lian yet? LOL

It's mostly Alfred coaxing Lian not to run away out of tsundere embarrassment. Their feelings are quite mutual. Their serious discussion comes sometime after or around Chapter 15-20 I believe (I might be wrong, don't take my word for it). It's when Lian really thinks seriously about where their relationship is going and has to think about how the monster invasion will affect it. In the game, Alfred is supposed to get together or at the very least start developing a relationship with the saint girl during/after the monster invasion. So for a while, Lian is unsure if Alfred will dump him eventually because of this 'destined' girl. He's also not sure if he'll live past the invasion. Alfred is just firmly hugging onto Lian and absolutely determined not to let him get away. The reason why they don't do penetrative intercourse is for this reason -- Lian convinces Alfred to put it off until they're 18 (waiting for the monster invasion to happen).
