Polygamy Tag

Please please please use it. If you've read the novel and reached a part where the main dude sleeps with a second woman and more, add the polygamy tag. I know it's not technically polygamy, and if there's a tag 'Protagonist sleeps around', I'd be asking for that one, but in the end, the guy will probably found a harem with the girls he's slept with, so might as well. When I see 'harem' I don't immediately assume there'll be polygamy, since the reverse harem (extremely) rarely turns out to be polyandry, and Japanese harems remain pure and open-ended in most cases...

As for why, I'd like to be warned in advance that I won't be seeing any romance fit for my sensibilities. There'll probably be people who'll specifically get interested in the novel because of the polygamy theme. So it'll benefit everyone.

Then a 'true harem' tag would be appreciated. Or a 'fake harem' if it's more rare.

It's not polygamy if MC is sleeping with more than one woman but is only married with one. It's either cheating or just plain old harem.

There is, and I really appreciate it. But it's not like I want to exclude harem novels. I've read some that I liked. I simply want to know in advance that that girl that seems would the love interest, would be just a sex partner, you know? It's like how Dimensional Sovereign caught me completely off-guard. Or how another Chinese harem novel actually had a single pairing at the end.

 

Question: how would you define Castle of Black Iron? Cause he sleeps with a hell of a lot of women, but only in the space of a few chapters

I kinda get where you're coming from, and I understand how it could be annoying, but my own solution to your problem is just expecting that kind of thing is possible because it wasn't excluded in the tags.

Oh god, not this shit again. "We need more tags!" but NU will be all "we have enough tags for everything."

They obviously haven't been burned by the harem tag... I'm sure all the nice, polite, seemingly correct responses they made seem right in their heads, but they have never been bitch slapped by the might of the harem tag. That thing will make you feel like you wasted your time.

EDIT: And everybody seems goddamned confused about the term harem. There are two ways to use it: the "true" harem where there is an actual relationship, and the sarcastic love triangle "nothing happens" sarcastic bullshit you see now. If the genre can cover two topics, why the hell are we using it like a bandaid?

Welll, more tags would sure solve the issue. But without more tags, polygamy would do for me. In the sense of 'many women', so I'l be expecting a MC who sleeps around.

Haha, both are technically a harem. Just a small one and a large one. To me, it makes a difference if the MC sleeps with more than one member - polygamy. If he's married to them, then that's obvious. If it's just a group of girls who orbit around the MC, but he's committed to one of them, or simply ends up with one of them and the rest are left to orbit - not polygamy.
