I'll admit, back in the day when it first aired i kinda liked it, not in the "must watch every episode whenever its on" kinda way, but willing to stop and watch if i caught it on. So i heard that there was a remake series of it coming out this year so i snagged a few episodes and..... It kinda feels like it's missing the point. Don't get me wrong it's not "bad" but the original show had this great dynamic of three superheroes who also happen to be girls, the new show seems to have inverted that to be about three girls who are also superheroes. Which seems to destroy some of that charm that made it worth watching waaaay back in the late 90's. Which is kinda sad. Anyone else have thoughts on the remake?
It's bad, the old show was timeless but the new one had a lot of "relevant" memes that'll probably become irrelevant in a couple years. Plus, the show was poorly executed, the art style was a bit iffy (They originally planned on a line-less art style) and the fact that Mojo Jojo was less of a villain than what he really was, and the fact that he never got introduced properly, was saddening to me.
Power Puff Girls. The Art style in this intro is not the same as the one in the show, it's two separate animation studios.
Sugar spice and everything nice? Sounds like the perfect ingredient for @CrispyNoodle if u ask me edit: forgot the chemical x.... that's just soy sauce maybe?
Hey WTF why change the themesong? It was really catchy...I hate when they try to fix shit that aint broken...sure you can up the resolution and sound but why mess with the good stuff????whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
You know, i'd have absolute loved for them to talk to david and get a series like the Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi off the ground. Can you imagine that? A series that took the best of the cartoon network / 90's shows, and aged them to around junior high and had them starting to interact with the responsibilities of the real world and each other?
Same. Seems they are going a similar route as the developers did with God of War. Make the character a little older and make the story more about redemption than straight up heroics.
I don't think you should worry too much, it is still headed by Genndy Tartakovsky. The continuation we always wanted, the artwork is the same too. PPG girls had New studio and director, I don't believe anybody from the original was part of it.
I went and googled it and I think I'll wait and see on that one. Thank you for that bit of info otherwise I would likely still be in the dark.
Well this isn't the first PPG remake is it? The other one was a teenage version of PPG I never saw/watched and the new PPG like you said is totally of the mark hell them not having the same voice actors alone is enough to make me sick! At least teen titans go kept the same voice actors and basic concept. PPG... I don't get the nostalgic feels. -I baby sit my nieces so I watch kid shows off and on especially during the summer.
There was Powerpuff girls Z which was a japanese anime made during the height of the original shows popularity, it was later brought over to america and dubbed into english.
