I was also thinking this. With how everything seems real. If he accepted and acted like the game is reality he might achieve 100% assimilation

I'm with you. Although usually I wait for around 50 chapters so I can actually get involved and invested in a story which makes the wait for each chapters easier for me.

Chapter 4 just in,

but there are quite a number of "comparisons" that the MC has made between "reality" and "VR".

He didn't want to play any games (AFAIK), but decided to play the game because he doesn't want his sister to be harassed.

What's more, he's been making connections about the game and his real life. Like when he saw a video of users slaying other people, he had nothing but negative thoughts, such like him questioning "what's so fun about playing as somebody to slice off another person's neck". This is probably part of him tasting the reality of doing so (since it was insinuated that he used to be a soldier on active duty with recorded kills, etc etc).

He's also approaching the game not by looking at the game as a game (which explains why certain players have low % of assimilation, but his was steadily rising).

He made connection just by watching / observing the wake (not parade) for the dead Orc, and he felt a certain connection to it. Somehow it meant so much to him.

He doesn't see the events in game as an in-game event. He perceives it as if its a reality. He's putting himself into the game universe.

The [Assimilation] stat seems linked to how deep the User lives the Roleplay and BE the character for extra hidden bonuses.

but he's beyond RP-ing. I mean, it didn't start like he's trying to really roleplay, but it just sort of hit him as if it was another reality to him.

 

I meant the RP factor is for regular Gamers, him being the complete noob is actually living the life as if it's real so his [Assimilation] stat rises in a ridiculous rate.
