I want to learn these two languages (for now) . Python Javascript. I'm looking for the best and/or most comprehensive books/tutorials available on the subject.
You should have looked into basic programming principle.. More than that just lookup the documentation.
Nah, I'm not a noob programmer. I'm a CS student. Those apps aren't really the best way for me to learn it.
Do they have PDFs there? I currently don't have Wi-Fi access and browse from my phone—with a shitty mobile connection—so I would prefer to be able to practise offline which is why I wanted books.
Sure, here's one some random person made: http://www.fadelk.com/files/Resources/153/006JavaScript.pdf But it kind of defeats the purpose of using w3schools, because the tutorial there is structured to let you learn through a series of "Try it Yourself" examples. It lets you see javascript in action and learn by tweaking it as you go. Just reading the accompanying documentation would not only take all the fun out of it but also make it potentially inferior to other tutorials.
best workaround on learning a language for a experience programmer is... environment. you need a platform to use to learn a language, like, making a game, a website, a mobile app.. then you can easily get going with it with help of google. example for that: javascript tutorial with unity.. youll get tons of tutorials, pdf out there or web javascript for dummies... or, node.js : from newbie to ninja it will be difficult to learn javascript in general without being specific, just target one kind for now and expand later on if you need so.
