Hey guyz, does no one read this? I mean i understand if you tried it and didn't like it w/e. though it seems it has very little views in general, why is that? Lack of a catchy title? the few number of chapters? though that doesn't seem to stop some series. So what is keeping you from trying a series such as this?
A very, very late reply but.... I'm reading this. It's really good!! Missed a few releases though. I forgot what this series was called. And even though I had added it to my reading list, it seemed to have got deleted.
Chapter numbering is of a rather rare type, so that's possible. Chapter length is another possibility. Then there might be the name itself ' Purple River', which isn't that... descriptive. Then there's the fact that you're primarily manga translators, so they don't really find out about you easily. And then at last there might be the content itself.
Well, the one you could change would be spreading the word about the translation. There have been some translators who were rather unknown, but then suddenly some other translators mentioned them, or they were posted about / mentioned on reddit or here, and BAM their viewers massively increased. So spread the word. And maybe do a mass release at some point, those gather much attention as well.
I've tried it but, it has some things that I dislike: 1. Shameless characters that aren't shamless; 2. That future prediction/review; 3. The heavy usage of adjectives that aren't necessary; let the actions speak, not the words, why should I adher to what the writer understands by shamless and so on? Well, those are my dislikes, and my personal prefferences, I'll give it another try. Thank you for your effort to translate!
thank you for the feedback, im not quite sure what 1. meant though, 2. disappears completely after first few chapters, i think it serves more as a teaser of sorts. im not sure if i should change much regarding 3. if author writes such, it only makes sense i translate them right? though i understand if some ppl dont like it.
I know what the words meant, i do not understand how it applies in the situation, like, why does a certain character has to be shameless?
I see, more of personal preference then I assume. I don't have control over what tags ppl add to the series, or how even it works for that matter.
The main reason I did not read it till now was mainly because I simply did not notice it because of its title. I know it is not in the translator's control and in fact I'm blaming the author, but "Purple River" is not a title that pops out to you ya know? But the series is good. Also a person 's definition of shameless is different. Some people believe simply looking at a girl for a little longer is shameless while some believe that grabbing a girl's ass is shameless so he might be shameless but in a small scale of shamelessness
I know what you mean. The title...just has no appeal. I delayed it for a while as well, thanks to the title. I did manage to get some people to read it by constantly recommending it to them, but still plenty of people who won't read it, because the title. The first review that was made doesn't help either.
