Once in a few months my w8.1 blue loading screen will normally start but after spinning that wheel for a while, the background turns purple, it spins some more and loads yellow themed windows where I can't do anything as it says windows failed to load properly. Today however yellow windows didn't load, there was just a black screen, so I cut the power. Again black screen, just as I was googling this fking purple loading screen on my phone, windows finally loaded after ~3-4min. Anyone knows what this is?

Agreed, I never updated, and unless windows 11 will be amazing (not always online, not full of bullshit programs that noone needs, not attempt to force me to use their shitty store (games and / or programs) system), I'll jump to linux when support for windows 7 runs out.

Ah those were the days, in which bluescreen was actually a common occurance.

If you had windows 8.1 you should have done the free upgrade to windows 10. I cannot remember how to troubleshoot 8.1 its been too long.

Lazy programmers windows 95 and 98 are the reason we never got windows 9.

    My brother's old pc.... I wish I had w7 but it's troublesome.
Yeah I should, but I thought it was the same shit, disgusting tablet windows.
My dad always buys minimum requirements laptops from murica, and you know how minimum requirements work, they don't or they are slow as a snail. I still remember the VAIO trash that had Vista preinstalled. I couldn't install XP because it needed a floppy drive LOL. Now he bought some trash toshiba with w10, just loading windows same as in the previous takes all it's juice.

Just for reference I actually found 98 quite good, but then again I was born in 1990, so maybe I just didn't see the flaws.
But I would greatly disagree with the idea that win 10 is good. I don't think so.

win 10 is good, but win 7 is comparably better, for normal user

however as of win 10 anniv version update it gotten better, plenthora addon features, personally liked the resource monitor, help me monitor my bandwith network by displaying every single application i/o bandwith speed (help me, a paranoid for data security, checking for someone spying on my stuff)

theres the useless cortana (siri for iphone, google speech for android)

i have a pc and a vaio laptop with touchscreen, personally, liked the win 10 for the interface because win 7 is the opposite of user friendly with touchscreens(i tried)

xbox one controller, you can now connect through it with bluetooth, instead of buying a reciever(tho i have f170)

    prebuilt multiple monitor customization
unlike in win7, u have to have third party for a better looking dual or tri screen display, win10 dont have to.

gestures for touchscreen and touchpad, and hotkeys in keyboard: in my gesture when i hit three finger in screen, it allows me to make multiple "desktop workstation" and can be toggled by doing the same gesture or hitting ctrl+winkey+left or right.

    the best feature of all
    DX12
and recent games are running better in dx12 (amd atleast).

    i have,
touch screen laptop, on my pc have dual screen and dx12 games on my library, and sometimes use my laptop to work and games so i can split my desktop to work mode and game mode

so yeah in my personal experience 10 is better.

Win10 is good, if you keep getting pop outs on Win10 asking for whatever, that means you own the free version. So buy win10.

To return to OP's problem, you might want to try a system restore. Purple screen can be caused by a few things, including a failing hardware. If a system restore doesn't solve your problem, try testing your HDD and RAM for errors to see if that identifies your issue. Also, make sure your video card is using the latest drivers and tune down any overclocking if you're doing that. Also, try replacing your video card if you have a spare one on hand.
