Regretfully, I must hold true to my beliefs and thus I will be putting a hold on reading and watching TKA as part of the boycott of TKA. In order to avoiding spoilers with the eventual (unlikely) hope of reading the novel I will be leaving the thread. It was nice discussing with you and TKA will be missed.
You can make a list called "Qidian Boycott" and toss all series translated by QI in so you don't lose your place if you go back to it in the future. Just look at my mess of lists.
Just watched anime ep 9 and 10. MC draw sword from his umbrella when casting Sword Formation on episode 9. Episode 10 fully show umbrella shield form.

Can't honestly recommend the show having read (up to current translations) the Novel. A lot of content is skipped (though probably obviously), but a lot of the important parts are skipped as well. My favorite parts were the mind games and trash talk between the guild leaders. Mucheng just suddenly shows up for the dungeon time attack with no explanation, Shaotian also jumps in with no explanation. Also, at Episode 8 Steamed Bun Invasion shows up at the Cafe around the same time that Ye Xiu is winning materials from duels with Tiny Herb, which is nowhere near the timeline of the Novels. On top of that a lot of the frames and sequences (combat, transformation, hand movements, between-scenes of pedestrians or people at PCs) are reused fairly heavily. For example, Episode 2 (~11:30) when he slides under the Boss is used again in Episode 3 (~17:10) to dodge a Launcher attack. I don't know what the producers have in mind for how the story will pan out, are they just scrapping the source because it's slated to be 12 or 13 episodes? From what I've watched I believe it would be a little difficult for someone who has not read the Novel to understand some of what's happening but it's also taking large liberties that people who have read the source will easily take notice of.
Didn't the qidian international account mention a while back that there would be multiple seasons?, so it should be more than 12-13 episodes total, although still not enough to adapt a 1000+ chapter story properly.
steam bun job as security mention at chapter 191, but it should be chatting inside the game. he, meet ye xiu & co at chapter 608. hmm..... maybe other chapter/arc will be make as ova? hmm......
