This volume does have an epilogue though. And oh, what an epilogue it is...

 

Sorry!!! It's not that im being rude it's just that im not sure if it does have a prologue or it only really have 4 chapter.. im sorry for sounding really rude...

This always seems to happen... there is some type of delay with Baka - Tsuki that sometimes makes a page that has been updated appear as though it hasn't been. It's annoying and will fix itself over time. However, here is a link that should show the update now:

I know... I kind of saw it coming with some of the foreshadowing earlier, but still

On top of that he died without us seeing it. No great fight. No tragic death scene. It feels so realistic and jarring this way. I both love and hate the author for this (It was well written but also upsetting).

 

Dayem..this volume just blew me away!! seriously top notch twists and turns. And his death..and the fact that he cannot avenge him because of his role..that is some character development right there!!

When he said that he still have many things to learn from Shique i knew it!!!!!!!! Noooooohhh!!! Smash smash!!!!!!!!

And that epilogue.. so sad... Guhl madness had crept inside him too..

Orba is officialy dead! Now is finally the stage where Gil taking the spotlight.
As always, best support mistress have to make way for best waifu. I will miss you.

To be honest this novel is one of the best jp novel i'm reading right now. And I felt likr Orba didn't actually just coincidentally have the same appearance with prince Gil and now the same demeanor as Guhl.. and what if? Just as my hypothesis is that Orba is really a crowned prince a twin of Gil? And as to not make any rivalry against the twin they maybe tried to kill Orba or hide him? And it shows how her mother treated her after his brother Roan died.. just like she doesn't have any other son to give love and just let him do what he wants without minding him.. if this speculation is true.. it's kinda funny to see how Orba always thinking that he is making himself the prince and he is actually a prince with a chance for the throne..

 

They are definitely not twins because Orba was a year younger. However, I do believe there was a place where the author mentioned that Guhl was in the Apta region fighting against Garbara around the time that Orba would have been conceived. I think the author has been heavily implying that Orba could be Guhl's illegitimate son.

In fact, I seem to remember back in volume 1, before the mask was put on him, Fedom mentioning something about how his close resemblance could dirty the Emperor's name. Now whether its only random chance or whether Guhl forced himself on Orba's mom some drunken night... who knows?

 

I could honestly see it going either way. On the one hand, yeah, there are those uncanny resemblances to both Gil and Guhl. And Orba's mother did seem to like Roan better. On the other, the point has been made several times that your bloodline doesn't give you inherent special qualities, so Orba actually being part of Mephius' imperial family would seem to contradict that. And for what it's worth, his mother mentioned at one point that he's like his father. In a way, I think I prefer having it left ambiguous.
