Ah,thank you very much,but isn't it hard to read it that way? I once tried and nearly burned my brains trying to figure out the meaning of a single sentence

I use machine translator to read those novels. Previously I used systranet, but now I found it easier with Google Translate.

At first you would be confused, but after sometimes you would get used to it (just ignore the messy sentence and the grammar disaster), it's just like puzzle, try to find the subject, verb and object of the sentence and arrange it together.

Of course, knowing some simple chinese words might help understanding it better. Like colours, numbers, etc. since they sometimes translated the names to.
For example: bai = white, hei = black, hong = red, yi = one, er = two, wu = five, jiu = nine, feng = phoenix or wind, depend on the character, and so on.....

 

haha using translator to translate raws...should be use when you're really desperate (totally me). Reading the translation messed with my brain so much as well as when I started to read them a lot, my english grammar gets completely messed up.

 

Glad to know that it is a happy ending~! I could always use MTL to read it but I don't want to mess up my grammar even more haha~ I feel like my english is slipping away when I read it like that.

@Skyelyne or really bored and had nothing else to read....usually when I started to read novels, I'll get really curious about the continuation and tried to look for spoilers about it and ended up MTLing bc I was really curious about the story. Once I got started, I rarely stopped in the middle unless the story got boring or got really absurd. That's why I'd usually read novels that was already finished being translated.

@BlancFrost Well, on the positive side, it would improve your Chinese language bc you're forced to learn some chinese words.

My favourite moment was when MC was suspected to be dead. ML had been looking for her for days to no avail. Sometimes after, he told his cousin to take care of his mother bc he was going to accompany MC, his mother still had his younger brother and eldest sister, while MC was alone over there (the afterworld), he was afraid of her being lonely.

That was when I really knew that ML really really in love with MC.

 

And what if I did it intentionally?

 

That is true~ It does make me brush up on my reading skills haha. Reading the pinyin also helps too~

Spoiler: what happened after...

As he slowly move forward, a ship passed through. He realised that ships en route to capital often passed through there. So if MC was rescued by one of the ship, she probably was in the capital city.
He quickly went, a day after his departure, a letter from MC (She send it, addressed to herself) came to the residence. Fortunately it felt into the cousin brother's hand and the cousin brother's wife recognised it as MC's handwriting. The cousin brother quickly chased after ML and gave the letter. It contained MC's location in the capital.

FJ was in the capital. MIL was sick, a nun from a famous temple stopped by and told them that MIL's sickness was due to evil spirit and to be healed, one must pray at the temple. The cousin volunteered herself, and since MC had to act filial, she also volunteered herself. In the end, MC was chosen and she had to go to the temple with her maid and some servants. She then had to cross the lake (or river?) to reach the temple. It was heavily rained, halfway on the river, there was some storm and the ship sank. As soon as FJ went home, he searched for MC, the maid was found on the bank of the river/lake as soon after, but MC was nowhere to be found.

Fang Zi = was FJ (ML) maternal cousin, their mothers were siblings...

The cousin there that I talked about was FJ's paternal cousin (he was the son of FJ's 2rd uncle). The one that was missing at the beginning of the story. Remember the 2rd uncle? He was the one that obsessed with gambling and was impatient when they first met MC after the wedding night.
