How are you going to get the originals published as light novel? You do know that printing the book and all those thing cost money right? And even if you have a contract with a publishing company, they won't necessarily publish every novel that is available on your site.

Look at the Japanese's platform for web novel, they have so much novel there but only a few gets published as light novel. And mind you, japanese web novel is by far more popular than English novel

I'm actually thinking of doing something similar to what you're doing, but first I gotta find a publishing company to sign a contract with.

OK, that was obvious and glib, but it needed to be said.

I used to do some writers conferences, mostly because I was invited to a nice place and they were paying for it. Or I'd get a "how to break in" panel at a convention. Or sometimes I'd be lecturing at a college or university. in the front row, most of the time, would sit a few earnest souls who were waiting, pen poised over paper or later fingers on iPad/notebook, waiting for me (and other writers on a panel) to reveal the secrets of writing.

OK, revelation number 1. There is no secret. Refer to my opening paragraph. No magic. No secret word to get into the writers club. No "knowing the right people." As to the last, networking can be a real plus on the business side, but that's for another post.

Revelation number 2. How I got to where I am, or any other writer you can name, will teach you nothing about how you may or may not get there, because every writer's talent/voice is unique.

But there are some common needs shared by all writers, so here's where a little advice might prove helpful.

More times than I can count I've had people say, "I have this great idea. I just don't know how to put it down on paper." Right. Just about everybody has had an idea or two for a story. If everyone did, and they were good stories, I'd still be selling cars for a living.

Robert Heinlein, who knew a thing or two about story telling, made the following observation about writing. Of every person who says they want to write, only 10% give it a shot. So, 1 out of 10. Of everyone who starts to write, only 10% finish. So, we are now at 1 out of 100. Of those who finish, only 10% submit to the market. 1 in 1,000. Of those who submit, only 10% who are rejected resubmit. 1 in 10,000. Now, I have no idea if his numbers work, but the point is valid.

Back to my first paragraph. Write and finish what you write. There are "wannabe," writers (a term which some use pejoratively, I know, but I'm using it in the broadest sense--people who want to be published and paid for it) who are great at starting stories. They have a dozen first chapters on their hard drive, and after that . . .?

So, my first "secret magic of writing," which every writer should know intuitively. Know where your story ends. After how to start, know where you're going to end up, because that will give you something to point at; otherwise you may find yourself wandering all over the place, which may have worked for James Joyce, but I'm pretty sure you're not James Joyce. Neither am I.

Im also an (self-proclaimed)author XD without a writer XD I can make a good story but cant seem to write it into a proper story XD

My genre includes comedy, slapstick, military, romance(very slight), western, mafia, 21st Century, alternative history.

I have a story called "The interns" which has about 5000+ words 35+ Chapters I think XD

-A short Discription- -kinda-
The year 2012 and the world is in a brink of WW3. The story is about two intern aircraft mechanic who went to Okinawa Japan to work at a local airport. 6 months later China invaded Japan with a massive invasion force. Land sea and air Forces swarmed Japan. They hit Ryukyu Islands First. Massive air assaults on every important location in the whole island. The airport was also attacked. Bombs fall everywhere causing much destruction. Everybody's running including those two. US/JP aircraft trying scramble but they destroyed by the attacking Chinese air raid. They finally found and took shelter in an hidden hanger near the airport. Asking each other on how are they gonna run away or stay in airport to surrender. While Fighting over this they found an unusual airplane. so on. . . .
