I wonder what percentage of the attacking guild Ol' Four will wipe out, and if he gets xp for killing players.
The distance between the ranged units would be exactly the same. If the defenders have to shoot down, then the attackers have to shoot up. Its just basic common sense. I think he's the one that attacked them when they were power leveling before. Also the one that tried to kill her and steal her stuff when she was power leveling alone. Basically he's mad that he's tried to kill her and take her stuff twice already and wound up dead both times.
" Both of them were females, but from how good their positioning was, it was obvious that they had improved by a lot. " Wtf does them being female have to do with their ability to position themselves in battle? Why would it take a full minute to determine the outcome? There's no way the game's processors are that slow. It would never be able to simulate the game if they were. I'm not clear on why the guild even needs to pay its members. In most games, its the other way around.
it's weird that they can just attack whenever they want, right? especially since the system forcefully stops 'em at the end and tells them to play nice. most games would have you properly register ahead of time if you're gonna do such a thing and give both sides time to prepare. none of this "their main players logged off for night, time to declare war and try to beat them as quick as we can" crap. if the author wants 'em to lose, fine, but this just feels like a horribly out of place mechanic that no game in its right mind would ever think would be even remotely fair or balanced. even the games that have open pvp would usually have proper guards or siege weapons to assist in the defense or something. not to mention that nobody thought to try and contact the top player or guild leader for this thing till well after they were royally screwed. doesn't even seem like bai mo found out until he logged in after getting back, yet supposedly a bunch of people came online to try and help with the attack, so somebody had to have sent a message out or something. given the time frame, if bai mo actually went home and logged in, he should have easily seen how fucked they were and gone to call ye ci. if he did even that much, she could have shown up sooner and actually done something. this lack of communication thing is probably one of my biggest gripes about some plots. like, so much shit wouldn't happen if people just said something. if upwards ho! was winning, or at least holding on, i could see them not trying to get ahold of their leaders, but it sounds like there's no way they could have thought they were doin even remotely close to anything that could be considered putting up a fight since the whole thing started.
I kinda hope she refuses to do it. Their other commanders will never grow if she's always stepping in and taking over when things get tough. Honestly, I thought this sort of system was more common. I mean, look at Eve Online. There was a battle a while back that was started pretty much on the spur of the moment that destroyed roughly $300k worth of in game assets and it was all caused by someone forgetting to pay their space station's rent on time (if I'm remembering correctly). The only reason Upwards Ho! suffered here is because they're a small, non-professional guild. The larger guilds would have people on at all times in sufficient quantities to protect the base and the pro-guilds would have whole teams of PvP oriented players on call 24/7. That said, they really need to come up with a way to deal with these guild wars. Those morons, or morons like them, will likely try this again in the future whenever they feel that their guild could get a reputation boost from it, or possibly just to empty UH's treasury. Repairing the encampment is far from cheap after all.
She should really carry around treats for him or something and give them to him each time he withdraws from combat based on how well he performed. Also, giving him breaks from time to time and sending out Ol' Three instead would probably help to slow his rate of dissatisfaction.
When I saw the title and heard there was a thread, I thought it was about her stealing that gold chest. But since its about that trash guild instead, I wonder what her justification will be for trashing her own reputation by acknowledging the charges, unless it'll be a sarcastic admission of course, but those are usually a very bad idea online, especially when there are so many people desperately waiting for an opportunity to misunderstand.
At first, I thought she'd just gotten one of her friends that stayed in that guild to do it for her, but now its sounding like she really did it herself. That being the case, that sort of thing shouldn't be in the game. The top thieves in the guilds would be spending all their time ransacking any guild that didn't look sufficiently wary, which would mostly be the smaller guilds that don't have enough members to defend themselves. After a while, guild warehouses would become a privilege that could only be enjoyed by the largest, strongest guilds.
So, are the servers for this game divided by timezone? If not, then there really isn't a way to sync the game's night and the real world's night. Yeah, this is a terrible system and all the guilds whose warehouses were vulnerable would have switched to a new game as soon as it came out. Being robbed is not "fun," and if the developers had ever played their own game long enough to be robbed, then they'd know that. "a master key that could unlock the door to the guild warehouse of guild encampment of levels 1-5 cost 3000 gold coins" Didn't it just say that level 5 encampments were safe? I'm certain it did because I was getting irritated at how often it was emphasizing that the MC's encampment was just barely safe from this BS.
One day, an MC will have three chances to do something and will succeed on the second try, or fail entirely. On that day, I will be severely shocked. Until then, I wish authors wouldn't bother with this garbage. It doesn't create tension, it just wastes time. Tension requires the reader to believe that there's actually a chance for something to go wrong :/ I wonder what she plans to do with the stuff she stole, sell it or dump it into her own guild's warehouse. The other guild would almost certainly find out that she robbed them if she did the latter, but they've already cried wolf once, so I don't know it would matter. Also wondering how none of the guards she put to sleep got found when she doesn't seem to have made any attempt to hide them. Crap AI that's well behind stealth games from the 70's or bad writing?
Why couldn't she use both her pets as pack animals? If she gave the lightest stuff to Ol'Three and the slightly heavier stuff to Ol'Four, she might not have needed to waste anything. If he were a bit brighter, he'd realize that this is an opportunity, call his source and buy the information on how to rob guild warehouses before going on a crime spree.
I wonder if he'll actually be removed as Guild Leader when she gets that First Blood, and if not, what lies he'll tell about the matter to keep his position. Also wondering how long its going to take her friend to wake up and realize that he doesn't love her, leave the guild and go join Upwards Ho!
Don't really think her friend should join Upwards Ho. She doesn't seem that obsessed with the game and there's no need for all friends to join the same guild. Really feel sorry for Tan Polang. He's getting bullied so much and she's probably going to bully him a lot from now on. Even if she doesn't mean it he feels scared.
I never got the impression that Upwards Ho! required obsession. Just loyalty. Its honestly far more relaxed than her current guild. Yeah, he's in for hell as a form of comedic relief I think.
Why did that guy keep insisting on believing that Upwards Ho! only had trash members besides the MC? Aren't several of the members at or near the top of various power rankings (especially the level rankings)?
Unless she's planning to immediately pass it off as a joke, I'm not sure how telling him that is a good idea, especially when the author just got through explaining why it would be a bad idea.
10% seems quite low, well, unless the guild is supplying the materials, but I rather doubt that will be the case. That really is a slavery contract. Honestly, she should have given him a better deal than that. Having a guild member that hates you and your guild is generally not a good thing, especially when they're in charge of upgrading your most precious equipment. The odds of them "failing" would be much higher than with someone of the same skill level who actually wanted to be there. I wonder how she's funding the guild. Officially I mean. The proceeds from robbing the other guild can't really be factored into long-term planning. Normally, the guild would pay for things by taxing its members, but she's actually paying hers. Her guild doesn't have any sponsors and all of its Life players are currently money pits. And from the way her personal finances have been talked about up to now, she's not actually donating a substantial amount to the guild's coffers. So where is all the money coming from?
