All you need to do is knock down the top people and find a person willing to cooperate. End of the day, Roland has no reason to dismember the church if he doesn't have to. Quite the opposite, he could use their influence in other territories to prop up for the war with the devils.

Would he even need to go that far? The thing is the church still believes the god punishment army is the way to go to defeat the devils. But once they witness his weapons and what normal people could do, the whole point of the church ceases to exist. Sure Zero is a bit on the crazy side, but once she is out of the way, there are other rational people who may realize that its better to team up.

Well it is hard to guess if that other witch was just being sensitive to Zero or was it her loyalty overall. In Zero's case, she is just crazy. I don't even think Zero cares about winning or losing to begin with, she just believes that whoever wins is the one god favors so lets duke it out.

There are also people outside the witches, like that other Bishop who may be more willing if he learns what happened to Mayne. Not to mention he wasn't a strong believer to begin with and more concerned about winning the war.

 

Sigh i really miss the disqus comments at the bottom of the chapter. All the stupid jokes and fun comments...
