I would assume lightning is some sort of anti gravity witch, and wendy is like a big wind turbine in reverse

 

Wendy doesn't uses her ability as much due and sees it as the devil powers and keep the uses of it to the minimum. She never really had the time to think of using wind to fly and thinks that flying requires wings to flap like a bird. She has no concept of aerodynamic or has she experience strong wind like a typhoon / tornado that can lift heavy object off the ground. In short, a lack of knowledge.

Isn't sure yet, but there is a big chance there would be a small harem. Up until now in the raws there is only 2 love interest and one of them is unrequited.

 

Been skimming the first paragraph of the novel chapter releases. Mostly waiting for the witch to join border town before I catch up in one go.

 

So what's the deal at the moment? I went to re-read up to probably 10 chapters behind, and I think suddenly the shift of the story gravitates / bends so fast like it was whole "we're going to mind***k you".

I mean,

1) the monarchies in the world are crumbling (because the Church are plotting against them)
2) the church are using whatever means (including magic, and they're implying that they have witches to work with them)
3) the church doesn't want any of the monarchies to rise, but of course we know MC won't take things going down.
4) we have a glimpse to the demon race, and the so called "Holy Mountain" which FITS the physical description but was NEVER the Holy Mountain the witches thought they were.

5) and now our MC and his "small empire" survives the winter, and now what?

It seems like the conquest of the other city / stronghold is heavily implied. I mean, you've got a concrete boat with really OP cannons fully loaded just waiting to roll out. Its already used against the winter demons, and now going to be used against humans.

Going quite easy for me all this is the different points of view before a war. You got split factions, a church pulling the strings and a unknowing superpower being made undercover all at the same time, I like it. Evil people scheme more and more only to fail (hopefully).

Yeah, i'm looking very forward to it, since this is probably the point where the REAL story begins after all that prologue / tutorial mode. (not saying its a game, its just that the MC has finally sorted whatever mess in the 'starting area', per se).

or is it? the "witches explode once a year" was the previous 'common sense' that roland already disproved. there is probably some reason the witches think they can't have kids that isn't entirely true.

 

Not really, the reason might be because that their body is mutated by their magic or so and wouldn't be compatible with normal humans.

The novel society are brainwash/indoctrinated to the point that the first thing they do when a which is found is to kill them, so I won't be surprise if they also fear contamination. I say the witch does not have a mating partner or fear to do it, and just talk big on how much they have done it even if they probably haven't done it at all. with the god necklaces, I don't think there were any mention of the witch being turn into playthings by nobles (or other villain characters who don't care about the church views).

 

i said isn't ENTIRELY true. as in it is technically true if X happens. maybe witches are only infertile for the year after they suffer the demon's bite? so any witch that hasn't suffered (anna) will have their equipment in working order.

 

This story is pretty legit. The quality persists as more chapters come out, and so far the authour has done a good job of avoiding Vance's law. Are there any spoilers for this? I'm kind of curious if he actually gets with Anna.
