    Even if they're not the best to read, they make the 'normal' chapters better because you have a more thorough understanding of recent events. Imagine if you had zero information when Nightingale killed(?) that church witch, it would be meaningless if there was no backstory. Instead, it was an interesting and important event.

    The background chapters always seem bland in comparison. Though this next one might not be now that I think about it. If they can connect the refugees to Roland and in extension the loss of a witch.

    Sure they're bland in comparison, but they make the 'real' chapters better. Bland chapters about behind the scenes are unsung heroes in novels.

    Also those chapters actually help tremendously with world building... It makes us feel that the world in RTW is not only border town but also lots of other places with all the activities ending up together in the end. Otherwise the novel would be quite bland IMHO.

    Huh, that church chapter wasn't too bad. It give us a general understanding of what going on in the church,and because of their wide network of info, also find what the pirate queen is doing.
    100man army + "pure" witches hype?

    I really like these kinds of battle royal scenarios, even though all three prince(ss) factions are against each other they're making sure to throw wrenches in the church's cogs at any opportune moment.

    yeah but consider the propoganda plus they dont have much shelf life, most these witches wont die in the war but will become ingredients for the berzerker pills

    What is pure witch? Is that a special term or just what church call witches that already brainwashed by them?

    my thoughts exactly .. we saw a prime example of a pure witch from how faceless was. Basically church indoctrinated and brainwashed witch. Nothing much different from the regular witch ..

    Tilly's group of witches almost revolted because of this Attacking Witches vs Supporting Witches.
    Ashes onehanded necksnapped the overzealous leader
    Timothy's last stand
    he was able to reproduce gunpowder, and tried to fight Roland with it, but ultimately, he could not withstand Roland's technological edge, his cannons + ships.
    Devil Capture
    ended badly, with Cage Witch and Nightingale, + others suffering. They get healed by nana though. Had to kill the devil because they could not use their abilities there. Witch + Gun OP.

    Upcoming Problems and Factions!

    A WORM SUPERWEAPON - just ate a Devil City. An entire Devil City. Seems to be an ancient creature.

    GARCIA!!! DAMNIT LET HER LIVE AUTHOR! SHE'S EPIC AS FUCK! There's only 1 Wimbeldon alive, and its Tilly. Roland doesnt count.
    NIGHTINGALE SNUSNU?! WHEN!? DAMNIT WHEN?!
    Where's Duke Ryan's family? POV from them pls? Also, POV for Devils!

    I'm really liking Gracia as an antagonist so far, she is a much better antagonist then the church's people or Timothy. Cold, decisive, smart, charismatic. Tough opponent.

    you know I can see one of the witches is going to see Roland's future gift of bras for Wendy not as a "something to help her aching shoulders" but as a "Pervert Princes wants sexytime with big boobied Wendy".......and I bet its either Nightingale or Lily that will view it the wrong way....well Nightingale will be jealous and Lily will be "pervert" instead of "traitor"
