Well just now we know our mc age 18 and caier 17. Just to help people that still think they are 12..... time pass
I thought they were 15 and 14, 16 at most, but they spent more than a year on those 16 missions and I probably forgot about other big chunks of time they went through.
In the chapters where Cai'er regained some early memories, was there a chapter missing where she met her parents?
I think it was only mentioned that they met and spoke, but her parents had their duties and couldn't stay with her. Their reunion was skipped or, like you said, there is a chapter missing.
I'm really surprised the author didn't spend ANY time on Cai'er's return to her family or their concern over her condition. Although she was starting to remember more, she was still practically a blank slate, so this was the best time for them to foster a new, better relationship with her. But the author just blew it off.
I haven't read this since the kids group attacked a demon caravan and got some lamps or a fairy or something like that, though maybe it was when he saved the dad of his gf after he used a skill that erased his memories or something similar. Has the MC me his daddy since?
As far as I can recall. No. He has met his mother though and a reason has been given for why his father is in hiding (a bad one). ----------------- I personally think the following great quote from this chapter shows why the author ignore Cai'er:
The MC saved his Cai'er's father in chapters 177-->186. The infiltration into Demon territory via merchant caravan, that got ambushed, were chapter 216-->230. The MC finally reunited with his mother in recent chapter 470. His father is still MIA after all this time.
While it's not something I think about often, the books of his that I have read lead me to believe that to be the case. Don't get me wrong, I really like some of his books, but it seems that there is inevitably a sentence or two that jump out and make me consider. At times I'll even feel angry about it. It is not just against women either. I feel that he throws some unreasonable traits on men too.
It's actually a recurring thing in this author's novels. The heroine always gets something bad and they get some sort of amnesia, lose their personality or simply become a spirit and need to be revived/helped by their lover which basically means, the mc needs to power up a lot to get his girl back... dunno if he is sexist or not though.
Ch-524: So after being scolded by his grandfather (in the previous chapters) for standing out by being overly flashy and promising again to keep himself low-key on his missions, what does he do? As soon as he arrives on the scene, he ambushes a Demon God, which leads to it being killed, then follows up with a big "look at me" gesture: ...
I think Im gonna wait with continuing the reading until the chapters where Cai'er gets her memories back. Btw let's face it compared to other CN, SYWZ is not so bad on the female front.
Han Yu is starting to act dumb. Randomly offending people on their home turf by mocking Lin Xin and giving away Haochen's identity to the mages by blurting out "Captain!". It wouldn't take much research for them to find out who the captain of their demon hunt team was and know Haochen is the provisional knight.
