Or is it really impossible without mods?

You can cure her, but not marry.

 

After Harkon's Death, notify Valerica that it's safe to return. This will allow the normal Vanilla Skyrim marriage options using the amulet of Mara. Dialogue which will appear to change Serana's attributes making her marriable

just go to elder scrolls wikia and check serana article... I forgot how to marry her since i didn't play skyrim for a few years... Or just use mod, it's faster...

I heard it was because the creators of skyrim considered serena as a teenager and they were against underage marriage. i think that was also the reasoning why you cant marry that girl in makarth(the one that worked in the inn)
