So i'm playing Skyrim again after a while and have downloaded a fair bit of mods. As i always play with them. Game launches and is at the main screen after about 60 seconds (Normal for 178 mods). Upon hitting new game 15-30 seconds later (Also normal), i am loaded into the normal starter wagon and well... It sorta just flips out. The wagon along with the horses enter fly mode and cant control themselves. Crashing into trees and mountains. Doing constant barrel rolls, i can't ever find my barrings but the normal dialog starts and ends with the dude remembering his home. I close out the game and the next time it's smoother. For a few seconds at least before the horses climb straight up a mountain and get stuck on the side of it, upside down. From the mountain i can see Helgen, but can't do anything. Anyone know of a specific mod that causes something like this? I tried to record a video, but when i alt+tabbed and tabbed back in with obs running. The game froze and i had to manually power down my PC. That just happened, so if anyone knows how to fix this, please help. Because i have enabled and disabled mods that i think would cause it, but ultimately aren't the cause. Please, somebody help me!
Easy fix? Disable your mods, go through the opening sequence, and then re-enable them afterwards. Some mods really, REALLY hate that cutscene.
Tried disabling 'Helgen Reborn' but that didn't do anything. And i don't have anything else that messes withe the opening scene (to my knowledge). Even disabled 'Alternate Start'
Did you try a new game? Also did you make a bashed patch? If you added animations, you have to run fnis.
Avoided all mods with FNIS since it seemed like a lot of work... Is it possible that a mod uses it and that's whats happening? Also i deleted all previous saves and this is when i try to start a new game.
You can also turn off all mods till the intro scene is over (once you get completely out of helgen. Any mod that comes with animations require fnis. As other people said, try LOOT if you haven't already.
Seriously, the best thing you can do is run the opening sequence with no mods. Save the game at character creation, then you can use that save to spawn any number of new games with whatever mods you want later.
Is there an easier way to do it other than disable all mods in NMM then spend hours enabling them all again?
People have noted mod managers above. The one I use is Skyrim Mod Organizer. It let's you turn them all (or just some) on and off with a click. And it helps you find conflicts and updates. All-around a good idea to use one. Ah--just reread your question. You can set profiles in both NMM and SMO that let you have things turned off or on. Just set a profile where they're all turned off.
I assume you're using the original version of Skyrim, not the new, "special edition" one that does mods through Steam. I'm not sure if mod managers work with that new one. Haven't tried or looked into that.
My friend tried to use the alternate starting place or whatever mod before and ended up with enemies just sliding across the ground and the entire environment was tinted purple.
Mods that modify the opening scene and different start(alternative start mod) and mods that modify anything in helgen can cause the problem. Disable any mods that does that
It was FINIS. Got all the way to the keep before opening it and crashing... Now i gotta figure out why that happend... Thx btw.
I did. I crashed after the intro. Eventually i was able to save before crashing and now whenever i load the save i crash. No matter what i do i can't figure out why it crashes and i give up. huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu, this is annoying.
Deactivate all mods. Wait till your inside the keep or after you finally escape before activating the mods again...it could also be a problem with your computer. Skyrim 32 bit isn't exactly the most stable. Skyrim SE is better. Also...you do have all the dlc right?
