for a game like this, i can see how the lack of good customization may offend players. We all love building characters and thinking of ways to push them past their limits. I cant complain since i like the game right now, and glad i can just play it casually as a timekiller while enjoying its nice, fast paced attacks. But would have liked seeing the past options. For a game like this i think simplicity is best, but still would have been excited to see the customization options you speak of.

Like with Skyrim and Darksouls, i had fun making new combinations of abilities and stats and effects. Would hate to see those things go, so i can understand the frustration older players would have with this ascension update. But oh well. I wont quit the game yet, still gets me to come back and play it for now. Maybe it'll lose its appeal later on, but i still see a lot of potential for the game. I think that's what they had in mind with this update, allowing it a few more years. Honestly, with how you mention higher level players could just solo powerful dungeons, just seems it was on its last legs before despite how great it must have been feeling invincible.

has to be a balance tho. If a desire is always satisfied, you eventually makes immune to it. I like feeling powerful, but would love more of a challenge. I think the feeling of "yeah, got that fucker! Heard a nice crunch, nig aint gon go to home to his wife tonight, hah!" is great. But if limits aint placed and everyone can go well above what their level should reasonable allow just by making some smart choices in gear or abilities...you lose the joy of getting stronger step by step. And i live for that shit man.

I played DCUO until my graphics card fan went out. That was about 2 weeks after it went free to play. New card now, but haven't been back because other things distracted me.

Played Skyforge, played it a lot. Loved it. Then they did the big 2.0 revamp. It's still really good, and most of the changes I like, but I'm having trouble really connecting with some of the changes compared to the original.

Of course I recently had an issue and had to reinstall Windows, so I lost Skyforge, and haven't dl'd it again, playing ESO instead right now.

yeah honestly it lost its allure for me too. I mean i loved it the first week or two but since i cant unlock other classes without paying ridiculous amounts of transformation points--which would take fuck loads of farming--i kinda just stopped playing. I moved on too that Proving Grounds military training game thing. Its alright.
