Which part do you think LX formed a life bond with YXM? Because I don't think he did.
Or are you talking about the blood pact seed?

 

I don't remember the exact moment I just know that there was this one scene where one of YXM's contracted beast felt offended that YXM didn't want to have a life contract with him. Cause he thinks he's the strongest beast YXM could have contracted with but then LX shows up and he immediately backs off saying no wonder YXM didn't want to contract with him cause he felt the life contract between YXM and LX.

I've already re-read the whole thing a few times and sure YXM is not in a contract w/ LX because whenever he get in a contract he get bits of information of his contract beast in his head.

And w/ LX very high pride it's impossible for him to "submit" to anyone.
Both are still cute lovey dovey couple who gets jelous easily. =^_^=

1. piqiu (rubberball) = divine wolf
2. heiqiu (blackball) = panther
3. sheqiu (snakeball)
4. maoqiu (furball) = nine-tail fox
5. pingpang qiu (table tennis) (xiao ping/xiao pang) = 2 golden winged insect
6. xiao ji (chick) = phoenix
7. mao qiu (catball) = thousand illusion catball
8. lanqiu (basketball) = pride bird (one of seven sins beast)
9. xiao jin (little gold) = swallowing gold beast (eats metal)
10. da peng niao (roc) = has a bit of phoenix blood (not a phoenix)
11. qi qiu (balloon) = ground squirrel beast (some kind of variation that can command rat beasts equal/ below his level)

 

Is there any reasons 9 & 10 didn't get hit by the "qiu" curse?

 

I forgot, xiao ji is a nickname (since he looked like a bald chicken ready to be cooked )
his name given by Ling Xiao is "hunqiu" meaning jerk/bastard.
later when he goes back to phoenix clan they name him Ji Ningyu.

When YXM first saw Roc he remembered an old passage:

It's LX who named him.
When YXM wanted to xiao ji's name to something nicer (since he's a phoenix and it would lower he's value), he asked LX what would be good and he said hunqiu.

later he doesn't get renamed and they still call him xiao ji.
Of YXM's contract beasts he's the only one who has the "honor" to be named by LX.

 

Was he happy about it or does he have mixed feelings?

 

He both like and hate it.
Like bec. he's the only one who has the honor to be named by LX, Hate bec. the name very ugly!
but he doesn't dare go against LX and YXM since he don't want to be "discarded" and want to stay w/ them (LX is his idol )

 

Is LX's naming sense that bad or is he just following the "qiu" tradition?

 

I think LX just don't want YXM giving "special attention" to xiao ji. (he has very intense jelousy issues )
