    I'm looking for a novel where hero gets summoned goes on a journey and beats the demon lord then happily ever after none of those overused vengeance or betrayal tropes. Oh and either a korean or jap novel please
    edit: A generic one with no twists or turns if possible

    Probably because all the deconstructions and subversions of the isekai genre have given him a taste for the vanilla flavor. I know its happened to me, and cliche, generic stories by no means have to be bad. Just look at the Belgarion series by David Eddings.

    Anyway, while I'd love to help you OP I'm kind of in the same boat myself.

    Well throw away that simplicity and read the mondaiji series. And then when you've read all 12 translated volumes read it again so you can understand all the things you didn't the first time.

    because i've seen 20 different sub genres and twists and what not but not a single so called standard that is almost always mentioned in them

    Sometimes people just need something that simple and what wrong with DL being evil for sake of Evil (just like Azi Dakaha)

    Volume 6 and onwards of mondaiji is on baka-tsuki. Probably have to google search for the earlier volumes.

    Ye don't you hate it when those demons kill and plunge through our hometown but still acts like a bad guy? I mean why would we think they are a bad guy, they are just misunderstood
