Don't know if anyone will see this, but still:
To Be A Virtuous Wife is a good introductory c-novel. Although there isn't a ton of character development, it is a good introduction to Ancient China, especially with all of the footnotes and supplements by the translator. If you're don't like reading dialogue that always has hidden meanings behind it, the scheming in this novel is relatively light compared to others. There are a few "adult" scenes, though.
If that's too adult, then A Smile Is Very Alluring is a good modern c-novel: very sweet but still with some plot development, with game-elements as well. How the game chats work might be slightly confusing, but even that should not be too much of a deterrent.
Also, I'm surprised Destruction Flag Otome isn't on here. It's a lovely and humorous work, and a great novel to read if you've never read an otome game novel before. A lot of people reference it when talking about otome game novels, so it's always funnier if you already know who Bakarina is when you read a comment about her...

    I saw it! *hugs*

I didn't read "To be a Virtuous Wife", but I agree with Bakarina! I'm actually pretty sure I suggested it tbh... >.>

Makes one wonder why Parth-kun didn't add it...

I think "The Snake Report" is really good, if people like rational isekai stories that have some great comedy.

Release that Witch is a good novel for those who like kingdom building. The protagonist also had godly memory and revolutionizes the medieval period with his modern knowledge. Oh, there is also magic for a proper fantasy.

I totally think Demon Girl ~Tale of a Lax Demon~ is a must read, it's cute and fluffy and horror all rolled into one. Also a reincarnation one.

    Practice makes perfect! \(^^)/

You won't ever be able to translate it into English if you don't translate it into English!

My Japanese is horrible, I mainly MTL my translation, and even so, I can still do it somehow! Just needs determination and practice!

I already dropped from 4-8/chapter (around 2k words) to 2-4h/chapter! It's totally possible! You just need to actually do it!

I would say BTTH because it's simple, as good character and background.

Does this thread allow short stories? Some good short stories are:
Robot Heart: A heartwarming story about robots and how they affect mankind.
My Hero: Two friends who are each others' heroes go on a quest.

[CN] Zhanxian - High quality xianxia where MC has memories from future self. Just make habit not to ever trust translator's schedule with this one.
[KR] King of the Battlefield - MC has memories from future, fairies, game-like world
[CN] Skyfire Avenue - Wine tasting novel
[CN] My wife is a beatiful CEO - Harem novel
[KR] The tutorial is too hard - Takes place in tutorial where humans are randomly teleported. It has nice character development and monsters / NPC's have depth.
