After thinking about making this game for quite awhile.... I present to you... Summoner The Goal: Be the first to reach 10 points How to Play: Every turn a person can: Summon up to 2 people using @_____ (choose wisely) Spend a point to purchase an extra summon When a person is successfully “summoned” the summoner earns one point The first to 10 points wins Rules and Definitions: Spoiler: Note A lot of these rules are about the specifics of gameplay to prevent spamming and keep the game clear and smooth, don't be intimidated! Summons: A “summon” is counted when the person summoned: Likes the post summoning them Replies to the post summoning them Replying to the thread without quoting the summon post does not count as a successful summon A person can be summoned no more than 3 times per game (totaled from all players summons) (it would be helpful if those summoned also kept track of the # of times they are summoned per game) Extra summons are single use and may be stockpiled A person cannot summon the same person more than once in one game Turns: Each "turn" is a set of two summons and the turn number is counted by individual user You cannot start your next turn until someone else takes their turn (aka no double posting, at least 2 players) If a summon is unsuccessful, a player can retry the turn by canceling 1 or more of the turn summons and summoning someone else. This can only be done after: 4 hours have elapsed since the summon Or another player is 3 turns ahead If only 1 summon of 2 is successful a person can: Wait until the second summon is successful (and retry as many times as the game time limit allows) Or move on to the next turn (once you move on, you cannot earn any more points from previous turns) (remember the turn retry rule!) Feel free to “dress up” your turn posts with creativity as long as it is clear what you are doing and everything is tallied properly Games: The game resets: after 5 days from the first post of the game or when someone wins by reaching 10 points Enforcing these rules and keeping track of games, turns, points, etc is the responsibility of the players (aka self police please) No additional rules may be introduced in individual games without being present in this post Rule Changes take effect after the change is announced in a post and do not apply retroactively (if it was legal before the change, you do not have to go back and edit, just simply proceed with the new rules) Spoiler: Additional Rules Additional Rules Additional rules can be applied at the start of a game to make it "special" No additional rules may be introduced in individual games without being present in this post Additional rule games must have “additional rule #” in every game post Additional Rule Options Blitz: suggestions please Extended Game: suggestions please Other Ideas coming soon Spoiler: Example Game Example Turn/Game: Person A Person B *person x likes person A’s post* Person A Person Y Person B And so on and so forth There's the game! Have fun!! PS: @Faaldara in a non game reply for any rule changes and suggestions PPS: This seems to be a game that tends towards long term
...I'm somewhat afraid that this game will create a megalomaniac who laughs at making the rest of us dance to his whims.
So what is the meaning of purchasing an extra summon. Is there a limit on the number of summons you start with or something? Cuz if so, what's the point of wasting a point to get only one additional summon that has a chance of getting you back another point?
You get 1 summon per turn unless you get an extra... though I can tell the risk/reward isn't quite balanced here... The point with the extra summon was to be able to stock up and do a "mass summon" or get better timing with activity... Any ideas for corrections?
I was summoned!!! *falls from a hell portal into the land of gods* Bow to me immortals for I am... Oh, it's Faaldara-chan! *glomps* I'll summon @Balthazzar ! Turn 1 Points 0 Faaldara-chan is right, games that require a GM should only be stuff like KR or Mafia.
If you do a "mass summon" at once, I think you mean you can summon more than one in a turn. But doesn't each extra summon still get you 1 point if you're lucky so all you did was waste the point to get a summon that might get you another point back? I think that it would make sense to either set a limit say 3 summons in the beginning with each point letting you buy either 2 or 3 summons. That way you have to successfully summon someone in order to keep on playing and are not allowed to just continue to keep on summoning. I think the game may go faster this way than waiting 4 hours for the person you summoned before being able to summon again(just in case the person you summoned is offline).
At least you should keep track of the players and their point~ So you can announce it at the end of the game~
Attention!! Rule Change Every turn you can summon 2 people Each summon has the same time limit When only 1 summon is successful you can choose to Wait until the second summon succeeds (and retry as many times as needed Move onto the next turn (Will be reflected in official rules ASAP)
