So I was on YouTube doing you tube stuff when I saw this Spoiler: Video I don't know about you, but eve online has always been one of those things I never bothered to llok into, but I'm honestly shocked by the amount of detail that must have gone into this game, for something like this to be even capable of happening. I'm still probably never going to play it, but I just wanted to take a second to consider what other games could become if they had such levels of detail within. Thoguh really, It's kind of sad what happened to GigX (Gigax? Gigex?)
I think I watched this video after 1 hr its release, sad thing for the Guild Leader tho, years of years of his hard-work, gone in a spoof. Not even enough, Judge(the betrayer) recorded GigX's(Leader) "threat" and reported it to the officials. the officials didn't get the story first and just banned GigX's account for life. eVe online takes it to the new level. Its like Other Life(Game version). P.S. Not gonna play this game in my entire life, I'm not that of a fanatic. P.P.S. Being Veteran in this makes it hard to being scammed, since its in-game outside Politics even shames IRL.
Way too detailed for me, recently I wanted to get back at Star Trek Online, but then I saw all the new shit I didn't know what to do and just gave up.
And shit like that is why I don't like too "hardcore" games. At some point they are just no longer games
wow..I have never played any game online due to my internet speed but if RL money is being involved like this, then I will never get into it. Gaming is for fun in my opinion, and even if you do competitive gaming..you compete in game with in game methods. Not meeting members IRL and doing stuff. This feels like one of them MC destroying the life of the brat, only now I sympathise for the brat..is GigX even a brat? IDK.
Eve online has a currency that can be bought with real world money (Specifically PLEX, a currency that can be used to extend your subscription by a month for 500 PLEX) and traded for with isk (in game currency). This means that ships and structures technically have a tangible monetary value, assuming someone payed for the structure completely with PLEX->isk conversion. It's like those MMO stories where people buy in game gold with cash in order to get new gear. As for GigX, you have to realize that he spent many years building up the corporation, this wasn't a corp of a few hundred strong, this was one of the largest corps in the game. And all of it gone within a day. Really, Eve Online is the closest to a real life MMO novel.
http://www.pcgamer.com/meet-the-most-honest-man-in-eve-online/ At least this guy is a role model for trust. I like this guy and would play to meet him.
Thanks for the translations and footnote. I would never have known that keikaku means plan if you didn't subtitle in it or something.
Not mine >.> Was too lazy to make one. Anyways, I would hire that Judge guy. Just keep a titanium plate protecting my back~
The the inclusion of keikaku, the footnote and the image as a whole is a reference both to the infamous light scene and how fansubbers like to leave in little jots of Japanese and then leave (sometime ludicrously long) footnotes to explain what they mean, rather than just straight up translate it. Sometimes the former is necessary, for words with special meanings, but there is never a reason to write "Let's be nakamas!" Footnote: Ohana means family Nakama means friend Spoiler: Exhibit A Spoiler: Though sometimes they're funny (slightly NSFW) Spoiler: Pretty much sums it up
It's clearly the work of a reincarnated genius that have not only heaven defying calculative abilities, but also a good grasp of the time line...
