I feel as though the reason why people don't use proper intelligence networks is because they simply don't know how to (either that, or because it's too expensive to maintain). I mean, currently, no one has a proper intelligence network, so unless someone figures out the importance of one and establishes one, why would you think that people suddenly know how to establish one? xD

To him, and presumably most people in this world, sending a few spies to bring back intelligence is enough to get the job done.

 

I just found it weird~ for a person who want to make big kingdom or come from descendant of Empire that sound too weird~ unless his father not know or not pass such knowledge~ think carefully da big reason maybe corruption on old Empire?
also he trust news from not his own people, that messenger from Kenmay~ lack of hmm caution?(I forget right term)

 

It's mainly because they are used to the information lag due to distance and difficulty of travel. Don't forget that MC lives at the North side of inhospitable places to live. They are too used to the fact that waiting (or gathering Intel which would take a long time to verify) loses battles. It's in the Art of war: Quickness is the essence of war. And that it is better to know half of the situation without wasting time rather than knowing all information yet have it be too late to use it.

Basically, they are used to relying on their (admittedly reasonable) assumptions, especially since Lorist always seeks to reinforce them to make him seem harmless and defenceless.

 

that's one thing but IMO a proper leader will act on caution~ second prince lack of it~ underestimate enemy~ isn't his previous war also caused by that? added w8ith his greed lel~

But he ISNT a good leader. He's a decent leader who just happened to be a prince with good backing. But even with those advantages, he ain't thinking of acting on attacking Lorists place just yet. He is mainly just on the road to outright ignoring the north since he deems it as too much of a hassle for now which isn't a BAD plan, just not a very good one either. And don't forget. Prince has LOTS of other things to consider and plan for/against with a very limited force which makes inaction on one front much more attractive a notion.

Not really. He has REALLY deep pockets in terms of influence and resources. He just doesn't want to exhaust himself which would make him vulnerable to his surroundings.

Second Highness is just a plain ambitious dick. If I were in Lorists place, I'd fear the dick more since he doesn't have the restraints of morals and/or expectations on his standing.
Which makes him unpredictable but not harmful YET. Just like an evolving virus.
