Basically Grand duke is for a duke whose duchy size is bigger than an average duchy, but smaller than a kingdom. Also it needs to be independent (grand dukes can't be vassals of kings). For example, Burgundy was a grand duchy in the Holy Roman Empire. Since the Holy Roman Empire (HRE) was neither holy, nor Roman, nor an Empire, so the Grand duchy of Burgundy were independent. Arch dukes, on the other hand, were only used by the Habsburg and Habsburg-Lorraine dynasties. The Habsburgs were dukes under the in the HRE, but after the HRE collapsed, they formed the Austro-Hungarian empire. Usually, the emperor of Austria-Hungary would give his heir the title of arch duke. So I presume that in order to be an arch duke: You need to be the heir apparent to your liege (parent), and you need to have a large duchy, Therefore, archdukes are higher than grand dukes. My memory's a bit wonky, I haven't read any history or play Europa Universalis or CK2 in a while so forgive me if I'm wrong. Edit: Apparently, current day Luxembourg is also a grand duchy, but it's too small. I think that over time, the expected sizes of duchies, counties, a kingdoms decreased. Take a look at some countries today, some of them were only duchy or county size in the medieval era. *cough* Balkans *cough*
250 ch The chronicles in the future stated that the Raging Bear King, Norton Lorist, had 16 generals which were often discussed by others. Those 16 gold-ranked knights had already been with him by the time he stepped on the path of uniting the Krissen Empire. The common trait among those knights were that none of them were of noble birth, the only exception was Divine Marksman Josk. Even he was originally an orphan who was adopted into a noble family. Intresting spoiler)
There isn't. It was stated in one of the author notes like ~50 chapters ago that while he does have a draft of a map, he doesn't plan on releasing it. Though he did also say that if someone was interested in making a map to contact him so that they can get the details. Not sure if anything has changed since the announcement. Lol, I personally don't mind it (and kind of think it's a good thing). It just means that the author doesn't focus on the results/ending of the story, just the process and how things get there, which I'm personally a fan of. I remember reading the arc prior to the war with the Duke, and thinking about whether or not MC will actually eventually become a King (since up until that point he has shown 0 ambition). Then some time after that, we got some spoilers about him moving up in the ranks in the future, and I was quite thankful for it.
I think there wasn't an update for a month or so in raws. Author still recuperating? Or another heart stroke?
Lorist is THE noblest family there is in empire. Keep in mind that after author had a stroke, there were no new chapters released for the last month. It most likely will resume at some point, but for now it is on hiatus.
So I caught up on the raws. One thing though -- In the battle between Lorist and the Sword Saint, THE SWORD SAINT DOES NOT FLEE OR NEGOTIATE. He just runs away to get out of the range of Lorist's field. THEN THEY FIGHT. They get mutually wounded. Lorist has sword run through his chest while the Sword saint/Juggernaut has his sternum crushed by Lorist's fist. Then they both retreat.
Wow, really? That's disappointing. I would have hoped that the second highness clashed with Lorist. Also, are the raws continuing? The author is still writing and releasing chapters? o.0
really i'm looking and all i'm seeing is chapter 591 and nothing since a little over a week after his stroke/heart attack whatever it was.. it looks like he did 3-4 chapters before his stroke and didn't release them and afterwords he released them to get them off his plate. some websites says the chapter i'm looking at is ch 591 others are saying 593 but they are the same and no new chapters since that one came out a good 2-3 months ago. i think its been that long. 2017-08-20 last update
