Correct, which is why the point of the missions is to figure out who the spies are and not send them. Most of the time the spies want to fail the missions; one reason to not is on the first round to give the impression they are not spies or on a later mission to do the same thing. But eventually they will need to fail a certain number of missions.

How accurate is the above? We shall see...

Also, just to confirm with 9 players it will be 6 resistance and 3 spies, with 5 missions of team size 3-5 (depending on the round), correct? Whoever gets the majority of the missions (3 success for resistance, 3 failed for spies) wins.

That is correct. The fourth mission requires 2 failing votes to fail.

Though in certain games with skilled players, 5-4 becomes more fun and challenging
