I thought "scramble" meant free-for-all, but it looks like its just people challenging each other until no one is willing to challenge anyone else anymore.

I wonder how long it'll be before people start paying attention to his matches? Also wondering how they're planning to get all the matches out of the way in time if contestants have to hunt around the city for people to challenge.

That sounds pretty boring.

 

Think Yugioh style, maybe they even allow team fights and 1 v many.

Ya I have to admit of him rushing for treasure sounds boring xianxia style, but I just can't handle the fact that Theo is having a slow ride down the magician lane when he can just power level himself and have others' experience cram into him. At least more challenging fight scenes than playing tag with 4th circle noobs.

Also, does the english counterpart of magicians also use circle as level indication like how xianxia with their weird naming thing or it is just KR WN at work like from Lazy Swordmaster and Revolution of 8th Circle?

 

Based on genre have potential

 

I honestly think that its a bad idea to be absorbing original works and cursed items. Just look at how much that Magic Bullet book has changed him. Who knows who he'd be after absorbing a dozen people's personalities.

Some use Circles as power levels, but its only one of the systems used. I think Apprentice, Adept, etc. is actually more common, but I haven't been keeping up with the genre for the last several years.

 

Yup, a MC with a multiple personality disorder, sound so wrong, but feels so right. Damn I really hope got strong opponents incoming...

 

Why was the attendant so shocked by the injury? Didn't the clerk say that there were injuries every year and deaths weren't unheard of?

Isn't Supreme the same rank as Vince? Is that a mistake, or is Vince the Head of the Red Tower? Or does the head of a Tower have the same designation as people who aren't the head?

 

It'll definitely be a problem were he to ever absorb books by people with a deranged personality, like a devil cultivator or a slaughter cultivator or whatever. Maybe that won't really happen though, as it might not give him a good synchro rating or whatever it was called, since it's too much of a change.

 

I'm going to think that it was a mistake, or that Supreme is simply a title that's unrelated to the rank of a magician within the Towers. It was said that Vince was an elder/high ranked member of the Red Tower, so I doubt he'd be the Head. Not to mention having the Head of the Red Tower move to a relatively rural school, or only having the power of the 5th Circle would be a little disappointing and not very believable to be honest.

Indeed if rank 5th was the strongest the country had, it would be questionable.

Yes, definitely close range at the last minute. I was kind of hoping Theo would learn some close range moves too, daggers, one hand sword or spear lol Roan, where is a CQC martial arts manual when Theo needs to eat it...

 

Maybe some sort of weapon enchant type of magic.

A sword would be a better choice I think since from lance range magic can be used already.

EDIT: food for thoughts, anyone pictured the blue tower master to look like the old muscular mage in the novel with 8th child magic prodegy?

 

Any hope that Mitra can invoke Earth Armor for Theo? I can see Theo getting horribly pwn in CQC
