Okay? Personally, I think that this novel is a good one and I like it. It reminds me of Dungeon seeker. Life's not sunshine, flowers and rainbows. What, do you think that rape, murdher, theft and coruption aren't part of real life? The writer didn't give explicit details, nor did he wrote in such way that you can't skip those chapters.
Every time he went outside the gate someone else wants to kill him, dosent seem forced to you? You think making the mc stupid is good for the plot, and story? He thinks that the girls father is just gonna let him be with his daughter all of a sudden if he does some random mission. Him believing that the government will do whats right even though he has seen that the law depends on status. It seems like the author is making the mc stupid to force the plot along. I could care less about the rape, or betrayal, because the mc deserves it. I say leave him in there and let them rape him the rest of the novel.
I tried to help edit this because the grammar hurt to read at times and rushed through the first 7-8 chapters, but....mad respect to translating/editing teams... I was at my limit after those first 8.
I dont remember there being rape in this story, so for all those that say this has rape; just stop and wait for the next few chapters.

Not really. She's a classic example of a person who has principles, but is young enough for her not to understand that there's a hidden truth beside the apparent one. If you were to pay attention, you'd see that she wanted for the mc to be a good person and to regred what he 'did'. Personally, I like how the writer thought this novel.
I mean, why are we all thinking about it in this way? The author hinted that he was going to form "The Devil's craddle" in the future and when he was dating her he was "thinking about leaving alchemy and all that behind". So it was obvious something like this was going to happen. I just want to see him take revenge.
He started out smart, butt author made him dumb to fit where he wanted the story to go. Were you that dumb when you were 13-14?
